**Choosing the right PT for you**

Choosing the PT can be frustrating, as you don't know if you will get on with them, if they understand your goal, if they will work you hard enough, or even if they will give you the right information and exercises for you.

Here are some tips

If your after fat loss and a PT tells you to get on a treadmill for 20 to 30 mins ❌ AVOID
The best exercises for fat loss is weight lifting, now I know some may look at this and say NO I don't want to be big I want to be thinner.

OK so if a PT tells you to do 12 reps over 3 sets of an exercise and the weight gets difficult at around 8-10 reps then they are training you incorrectly, they are using a generic plan and shows they don't care.
For fat loss using weights ideally you should be doing around 15 reps for anywhere between 3-5 sets at a comfortable weight, this comfortable weight won't be difficult to lift but you will feel a burning sensation if the area you are training.

Also such things as battle rope exercises, slam ball exercises and boxing for mention some are also great ways to train for fat loss.

If you sit on a bike or a treadmill on your own great, but if your doing it will a PT your paying them to stand there and just watch you.

Also you should be getting nutritional advice from your PT some main questions to hear from your PT should be
"What is your nutritional intake like?"
"How much water do you drink per day?"

Also the PT should be asking you what you do outside the gym, if you walk for example 2 miles to drop your kids off at school and 2 miles to collect them, a mile to get your shopping and on your feet all day cleaning for example you DON'T need to be doing loads of cardio in the gym, use the cardio for a warm-up and a cool-down.

Through your workout the PT should be explaining why you are doing a certain exercise, what area it's hitting and be demonstrating the exercises to you first, this is called education, the more you know, the easier it will become and the more confident you will feel going into the gym without your PT.

But most of all a good PT will always start and end your session with STRETCHES.

Also if your unsure on if you will get on with your PT which is important, any good PT will offer a taster session lasting anywhere between 30 mins and 1 hour.

This gives you chance to decide and the PT chance to show you what they can do.

You should also talk about the time frame for your goal
Just remember SMART this is what the PT should be using

S - Specific - be specific to your goal
M - Measurable - be able to measure your goal
A - Achievable - will you be able to achieve
R - Realistic - is your goal realistic (e.g lose 5 stone in 2 day not realistic)
T - Time frame - set a time frame for your goal

Choosing PT can be difficult and expensive, but if you have the right PT the cost will be worth it 👍🏼

🍄VEGGIE BREAKFAST BAKES🍄

🫛INGREDIENTS
*4 large field mushrooms
*8 tomatoes, halved
*1 garlic clove, thinly sliced
*2 tsp olive oil
*200g bag spinach
*4 eggs

🫛METHOD
**STEP 1
Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Put the mushrooms and tomatoes into 4 oven proof dishes. Divide garlic between the dishes, drizzle over the oil and some seasoning, then bake for 10 mins.

**STEP 2
Meanwhile, put the spinach into a large colander, then pour over a kettle of boiling water to wilt it. Squeeze out any excess water, then add the spinach to the dishes. Make a little gap between the vegetables and crack an egg into each dish. Return to the oven and cook for a further 8-10 mins or until the egg is cooked to your liking.

🍽️Chhole (Chickpea Curry)🍽️

💥💥 INGREDIENTS

💥1 medium serrano pepper, cut into thirds
💥4 large cloves garlic
💥1 2-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and coarsely chopped
💥1 medium yellow onion, chopped (1-inch)
💥6 tablespoons canola oil or grapeseed oil
💥2 teaspoons ground coriander
💥2 teaspoons ground cumin
💥½ teaspoon ground turmeric
💥2 ¼ cups no-salt-added canned diced tomatoes with their juice (from a 28-ounce can)
💥¾ teaspoon kosher salt
💥2 15-ounce cans chickpeas, rinsed
💥2 teaspoons garam masala
💥Fresh cilantro for garnish

💥💥METHOD

💥Step 1
Pulse serrano, garlic and ginger in a food processor until minced. Scrape down the sides and pulse again. Add onion; pulse until finely chopped, but not watery

💥Step 2
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the onion mixture and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, 3 to 5 minutes. Add coriander, cumin and turmeric and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes.

💥Step 3
Pulse tomatoes in the food processor until finely chopped. Add to the pan along with salt. Reduce heat to maintain a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, for 4 minutes. Add chickpeas and garam masala, reduce heat to a gentle simmer, cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes more. Serve topped with cilantro, if desired.

A great day yesterday, we teamed up with Booths to celebrate there 175 birthday by doing a 175k bike ride on spin bikes with a spin class in the middle of it too for raising money for leukemia charity.

Everyone was absolutely amazing even more so that we smashed the target and reached 533.7k 🙌 an amazing effort by everyone.

It was a pleasure to be apart of and can't wait to do it again.

🍖Steaks with Goulash Sauce & Sweet Potato Fries🍟

💥💥INGREDIENTS💥💥
3 tsp rapeseed oil, plus extra for the steaks

250g sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into narrow chips

1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves

2 small onions, halved and sliced (190g)

1 green pepper, deseeded and diced

2 garlic cloves, sliced

1 tsp smoked paprika

85g cherry tomatoes, halved

1 tbsp tomato purée

1 tsp vegetable bouillon powder

2 x 125g fillet steaks, rubbed with a little rapeseed oil

200g bag baby spinach, wilted in a pan or the microwave

💥💥METHOD💥💥
Heat oven to 240C/220C fan/gas 7 and put a wire rack on top of a baking tray. Toss the sweet potatoes and thyme with 2 tsp oil in a bowl, then scatter them over the rack and set aside until ready to cook.

Heat 1 tsp oil in a non-stick pan, add the onions, cover the pan and leave to cook for 5 mins. Take off the lid and stir – they should be a little charred now. Stir in the green pepper and garlic, cover the pan and cook for 5 mins more. Put the potatoes in the oven and bake for 15 mins.

While the potatoes are cooking, stir the paprika into the onions and peppers, pour in 150ml water and stir in the cherry tomatoes, tomato purée and bouillon. Cover and simmer for 10 mins.

Pan-fry the steak in a hot, non-stick pan for 2-3 mins each side depending on their thickness. Rest for 5 mins. Spoon the goulash sauce onto plates and top with the beef. Serve the chips and spinach alongside.
