Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity Raising funds for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust to give patients the best possible care ✨🧡

Here at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity, we are dedicated to making a difference to the thousands of patients treated at our hospitals every year. Incredible things are happening across our hospitals each and every day, but there will always be a need for those added extras that can make all the difference to our patients. This is where our charity comes in; we’ve made it our mission to help fund the items at our hospitals which are over and above what the NHS can provide. We make this possible by raising vital funds to ensure our hospitals are equipped with the very latest in technology, enabling vital research and making our hospitals a little more comfortable for patients and their families. With your support, we can ensure that the patients treated at our hospital have the best possible care, in the very best facilities.

🧡 Help bring comfort and smiles to young patients at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust! 🧡

We’ve updated our Amazon Wishlist with items that help brighten hospital stays for children and young people - think sensory toys, craft kits, wall art, and seasonal decorations.

Each donation, big or small, helps us create a more welcoming, positive space for our young patients and their families. ✨

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ A huge well done and thank you to our amazing Great North Run team! 👏👏

Last weekend, seven incredible runners laced up their trainers and took on the Great North Run in support of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust! Not only did they complete the world’s biggest half marathon – they did it with smiles, determination, and an amazing fundraising effort✨

Together, our runners have raised an incredible £3,433 for our charity. These vital funds will help us continue to support patients, families, and staff across our hospitals, funding the projects, equipment and extras that make a real difference every single day.

We are so proud of each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication - both in your training and on the day. Thank you also to everyone who donated and cheered them on along the way 🥰

We are so thankful to everyone who donates to our hospital charity - thanks to generous donations, we’ve been able to fund five brand-new mirrors for patients on the Head & Neck Surgical Ward at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust!🏥 🧡🪞

Many of our patients undergo life-changing surgeries such as a tracheostomy or laryngectomy, and learning a whole new way of breathing and talking can be daunting. Having the right mirrors makes a huge difference, helping patients see their stomas and tracheostomies clearly so they can gain confidence in caring for themselves before going home.

With up to six airway patients on the ward at any one time, these mirrors will make a big difference every single day.

A huge thank you to everyone who supports our charity - your generosity helps us provide the tools and equipment that really matter for patients and their recovery 🥰

This September, Linzi Wallace is taking on an incredible challenge - walking five miles every day in memory of her godson, Josh McKee, who tragically lost his life earlier this summer after a motorbike accident 🤍🕊️

Linzi is raising funds for our Critical Care Unit at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where Josh was cared for with such dedication and compassion during his four-week battle. Her wish is that the money raised will help support other families who find themselves facing similar trauma.

We are so touched by Linzi’s strength and determination, and by the support of Josh’s family and friends. Every step she takes is a fitting tribute to Josh’s memory 🥰

🌟 We wish Linzi the very best of luck with her challenge and thank her for choosing to support our charity in such a meaningful way 🌟

A huge well done and thank you to nine-year-old Faye Handyside, who has just completed her incredible challenge of running one mile every single day throughout August in support of our hospital teams! 🏃‍♀️🌟🧡

Thanks to her amazing determination, Faye has already raised £1,909 - an incredible achievement at just nine years old!

Faye took on this challenge to say thank you to the staff caring for her beloved Auntie Laura, who is being treated at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust after being diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour last year and recently undergoing her third brain surgery.

Over the summer, Faye mapped out countless different routes around Ribbleton from her grandparents’ house - running every day, getting stronger and faster with each mile. She finished her final mile with a big crowd cheering her on, and even had people running alongside her to help her over the line 🥰

Faye, you’re an inspiration, and on behalf of everyone at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity - thank you for making such a difference! 👏

A huge thank you to Freya and Dorothy from Lever House Primary School for their amazing fundraising this summer! 🧡🌞✨

During the school holidays, the girls set up a stall outside Freya’s house, selling handmade keyrings, bracelets, bookmarks and books - all to raise money for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the RSPCA🏥🐾

Freya chose to support our hospitals as her family has always been cared for here, and we’re so grateful for her thoughtfulness. They even had a special visit from the Mayor of South Ribble, who came along to show support!

Together, Freya and Dorothy raised an incredible £85 for our hospital charity! We’re so proud of these inspiring young fundraisers - thank you for making a real difference. 🥰

Thanks to generous donations, we’ve funded a brand-new Salonserve 3-section electric beauty bed for the Skin Camouflage Service at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust! 🏥 🧡👏

The Skin Camouflage Service, part of our Core Therapies Department, is being reintroduced to support patients with burn injuries by teaching them how to apply specialist camouflage cosmetics to affected areas of their skin. This can make a huge difference to a person’s confidence, self-esteem and daily life.

This new electric bed will ensure patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their sessions, while also helping therapists provide the best possible care.

✨ Most importantly, it means patients can focus on feeling relaxed, supported and empowered during their treatment.

Thank you so much to everyone who donates to us - your kindness makes projects like this possible, helping to transform services and improve patients’ lives 🥰

A huge thank you to all the 360 Ambulance Service team for their wonderful generosity! 🧡💫👏

The team called in to Ward 8 with donations that will benefit patients right across Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - from pyjamas and underwear for children, to toys and books for our waiting areas, dolls for patients living with dementia, and toiletries and comfort items for those waiting to return home.

The 360 Ambulance Team are fantastic supporters of our charity, and we’re so grateful for their continued support. A special thank you to the parents of the crew members who collected lots of the items. Your kindness really does make a big difference! 🥰
