🎄✨ Penwortham Grange Christmas Fair – Tombola Donations Needed! ✨🎄

We’re getting ready to spread some festive cheer at our Christmas Fair, and we’d love your help to make it extra special!

Our tombola is always a big hit, and we’re looking for any donations – big or small – to make it a success. Items like chocolates, wine, toiletries, gift sets, or anything fun and festive would be amazing!

Today was filled with joy, reflection, and connection 💛
This morning, we welcomed our weekly visitors from the local nursery. Together, we explored the theme of what makes us happy — through conversation, creativity, and lots of colourful drawings! It’s always a delight to see the magic of intergenerational friendships in action. The laughter and stories shared between our residents and the little ones truly brighten our home.

This afternoon, we gathered for a special Remembrance Day-themed live music session 🎶. Fantastic performances and moments of reflection.
We’re proud to celebrate both the past and the present — and cherish the connections that make every day meaningful.

Today, Joan celebrated her special day surrounded by her wonderful friends – 'The Golden Girls!' 🌸

Together, they spent the afternoon arranging beautiful flowers in vases, filling the room with colour and joy.

We'd like to congratulate Whitney Sampson on successfully completing her CQC Registration for the first time and becoming the Registered Manager of Three Bridges Nursing Home 👏

The certification, led by CQC, is only given after a rigorous application process which looks at a number of different qualities; including whether the person has a clear understanding of care laws and rules, complies with relevant regulations and is fit to be registered as a manager. After her interview last week, we're pleased to say Whitney passed with flying colours - which won't surprise anyone who has had the pleasure of working alongside her!

Joining our Warrington nursing home as a nurse, Whitney has shown time and time again her dedication to providing exceptional care, and is a well-loved member of the team. We are incredibly proud of Whitney's achievements and excited to see her flourish in this next step in her career 🥹 ❤️

Wendy, the brilliant Home Administrator at Three Bridges Nursing Home has recently implemented a very special addition to residents' bedroom doors! 🥰

With her mum Doris living at the wonderful home and her late father William also having lived there, Wendy knows the home inside-out and knows how dedicated the team is to providing the highest quality of care.

One small thing that Wendy realised was that when members of the team were new to their role, it might be nice for them to know a little more about the residents straight away - and so came her idea for informative bedroom door signs 👏

Now, everybody knows straight away from the signs a resident's preferences - whether they like their nightlight left on when they sleep or which music they like listening to! They have been a very popular, effective addition to the home and families, team members and visitors all absolutely love them 💚

🪷 Diwali celebrations at Green Park Nursing Home 🪷

Our Warrington care home always likes to celebrate Diwali, but this year, they welcomed Care home activity provider who provided a workshop for their residents.

The day included a visit from their favourite Bollywood dancers, making traditional diyas and getting henna tattoos!

Lisa, Activities Co-ordinator, said "We have many colleagues who celebrate Diwali and it was lovely to involve the residents in learning about their culture. One of our residents, Cecil, loved getting a henna tattoo and asked plenty of questions about Diwali celebrations. Diwali is all about love and light, and it certainly brought that to our home!"

📹 Watch the moment Caroline presented a Care Certificate to her favourite team member, Tessy 🥹

As a Dementia Support Worker at Archers Court Care Home, Tessy works closely with Caroline on a daily basis, and when she found out Tessy had completed her care qualification, she jumped at the chance to present the award!

The Care Certificate, which takes approximately 12 weeks to complete, provides a great understanding of person-centred care, and Tessy passed with flying colours. Congrats, Tessy - and we hope you enjoyed your surprise presentation!

Everyone Meet Ashgar, aka Employee of the Month at Eckington Court Nursing Home 😆✨

Senior Care Assistant Ashgar has been a hard-working and dedicated member of the Eckington team since February last year and is best described as a supportive team player. He is gentle and helpful by nature and loved by residents and team members alike 💚

Ashgar is also known to be especially helpful for those just starting out in the home, showing them around and helping them learn the ropes - what a superstar!

Everyone say 'Hello' to Dumbledore 🐐

Paisley Lodge Care Home was recently visited by 11 year-old British pygmy goat, Dumbledore from AlTreka and it was a real delight for everyone. Residents and colleagues enjoyed cuddles with him and also got to learn about caring for goats!

One resident in particular, Robert, loved this experience because he grew up on farms and has always been a big animal lover 💚

Three Bridges Nursing Home has recently introduced 'dementia sheets' to their residents; an illustrative communication method that allows non-verbal residents to express their emotions.

Bridging the gap in communication has allowed non-verbal residents, including people living with dementia, to share their feelings with the care team and relatives, which can help significantly reduce levels of distress and frustration. Now, residents are able to easily communicate and share feelings of happiness, joy or pain, thanks to the great initiative of Lily at Three Bridges!
