Let’s talk about something many women experience but rarely mention…

vaginal atrophy (also known as GSM). 💗

As oestrogen levels drop, the tissues can become drier, thinner and less elastic — which can lead to discomfort, itching, painful s*x or more frequent UTIs. It’s common, it’s treatable, and it’s nothing to be embarrassed about.

If you notice changes, please know you’re not alone and you don’t have to “just put up with it.”
There are effective options such as vaginal moisturisers, lubricants, local oestrogen treatments and lifestyle supports that can make a huge difference.

Talking about this is a sign of strength, not shame. Your comfort, confidence and wellbeing matter at every age. 🤍✨

Keeping Cool at Night Through Hot Flushes

Night sweats and hot flushes can make restful sleep feel impossible — but a few simple tweaks can make a big difference:

✨ Choose breathable bedding: Cotton, bamboo or linen help regulate temperature.
✨ Layer up lightly: Several thin layers let you adjust quickly when a flush hits.
✨ Cool the room: A fan, open window or lowering the room temp before bed supports better sleep.
✨ Avoid triggers in the evening: Caffeine, alcohol, spicy food and heavy meals can intensify night sweats.
✨ Try cooling bedding: Pillows or toppers designed to draw heat away keep you more comfortable.
✨ Create a calm pre-bed routine: Deep breathing, gentle stretching or a warm shower can settle your system.

While enjoying a peaceful weekend in Hawkshead, I came across a lovely little cat bar. It was a simple reminder of the many proven benefits animals bring:
✔ Lower blood pressure
✔ Reduce stress hormones
✔ Support and settle the nervous system

As we get older and especially through menopause these small moments of calm make a big difference.
