NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria are delighted to announce that we are partnering with 8 local Football Club Community Organisations to deliver Cancer Prehab to all of our cancer patients (18+) preparing for or currently receiving treatment. This includes patients receiving palliative oncology. This service will be self-referral only and initially will be a 1-year pilot, with the clubs looking to sustain the activity after this period. THE GO-LIVE DATE IS WEEK COMMENCING 6TH JANUARY.

Each session will include an hour of personalised exercise, followed by an opportunity to sit down with a brew and a biscuit whilst chatting with other attendees. When possible, the local trusts Macmillan information centre will also be in attendance, to provide advice and support where required.

MEET THE TEAM: Lindsay - Care Co-Ordinator

Hi I'm Lindsay, I started at GAB Healthcare a few weeks ago. I'm enjoying learning everything that goes in to being a care co Ordinator, its a lot more than I expected.
however I am loving every minute of my new role. When I'm not at work I look after my grandson and love the theatre.

What is a Care Navigator or Care Co-Ordinator?

Care co-ordinators are members of our reception team who help to co-ordinate and navigate care, helping people make the right connections, with the right teams at the right time. They can support people to become more active in their own health and care and are skilled in assessing people’s changing needs.
