Meet our Osteopath..

Julia Kinsey is from a medical family and always wanted a career in healthcare. However, she didn’t really want to do it in a hospital setting. Instead, Julia wanted to be community based as she felt this gave her more freedom to offer people more time to help them.

Graduating from the British School of Osteopathy in 1991 and becoming an Associate Osteopath in a practice in Cambridge. Since then Julia has lots of experience working with different therapists and clinics. Sharing knowledge and ideas has increased her awareness and appreciation of other therapies in helping people.

Julia is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) which ensures all osteopaths maintain a strict code of conduct and keep their skills updated

Clients often ask “Why did my back make that sound?” when they have osteopathic treatment.

Osteopaths use a technique called High Velocity Thrust (or HVT). This is a safe, relatively gentle spinal manipulation to restore normal movement and function in the joints of the spine. It takes the joint just slightly further than it is used to going.

It is often heard as a click or pop. It is not the sound of a bone “crack” or anything going “back into place”. It is a release of pressure which helps the surrounding muscles relax and the increased movement in the joints.
