Kay Johnson who has previously run some free women's health, wellbeing and healthy nutrition workshops at the practice, is now offering some women midlife yoga classes for a small fee. Do check it out if of interest. Yoga is so good for the body and the mind.

Fantastic to see Lostock Hall Academy using one of the history of medicine handling boxes we put together with Lancashire Museum in a classroom activity. We are always keen to celebrate the long history of community healthcare in our area in particular with our young people

Many thanks to staff and patients for your generous donations of Easter eggs for the appeal for the New Day Foodbank.
Pat Jackson collected them all up on 30 March to make sure they were available to needy children and families for Easter.

On 18 March Dr Craven led a lively workshop for the staff of St Catherine's Hospice on the subject of women's health and navigating menopause. From an evaluation 100% rated the session as positive, 85% as excellent.

A wish from Dr Craven:
Happy International Women Day to all of us who live this life as women!
As much as it can be tricky multi-tasking path it is also extremely satisfying and full of wonder.
The problem is that when life gets busy its hard to see it.
I wish all of us a lot of self-compassion, appreciation from within and confidence in the fact that we all wonderful beings.
In keeping with the theme of we are stronger when we work together, support and learn from each other and embrace differences.
I love being involved in spreading women health education to diverse groups of women and I feel I learn so much during these sessions too!
I am truly grateful that I can walk this path ❤️

COVID SPRING BOOSTERS will be available to patients in April. The eligible groups are:
-75 years and over
-6 month - 74 immunosuppressed
-Residents of older patient care homes
Vaccinations for care homes and housebound will start from 13 April
Other eligible patients will soon be able to book in to clinics at RYAN MEDICAL CENTRE for the weekends of 18 and 25 April

We are all still buzzing after yesterday’s talk by diet expert Dr David Unwin for our team (photos below). We will be contacting some patients to see if they would be interested in trying this low-carb approach and even looking for staff volunteers!

It was such a pleasure yesterday to host an inspiring training session for our staff at the practice by the award-winning GP, Dr David Unwin. Dr Unwin is known nationally and beyond for his work on the low-carb approach to health, especially for pre-diabetic and diabetic patients. We are very grateful to David for being so generous with his time.

The Patient Forum were in the waiting room today offering free coffee and biscuits and enjoying a chat with some patients. Thank you to Carole, Jim, Ronnie, Polly and Doreen for organising this and for patients for sharing some of their thoughts. Look out for the Patient Forum team when next you come to the practice.
