A wish from Dr Craven:
Happy International Women Day to all of us who live this life as women!
As much as it can be tricky multi-tasking path it is also extremely satisfying and full of wonder.
The problem is that when life gets busy its hard to see it.
I wish all of us a lot of self-compassion, appreciation from within and confidence in the fact that we all wonderful beings.
In keeping with the theme of we are stronger when we work together, support and learn from each other and embrace differences.
I love being involved in spreading women health education to diverse groups of women and I feel I learn so much during these sessions too!
I am truly grateful that I can walk this path ❤️

COVID SPRING BOOSTERS will be available to patients in April. The eligible groups are:
-75 years and over
-6 month - 74 immunosuppressed
-Residents of older patient care homes
Vaccinations for care homes and housebound will start from 13 April
Other eligible patients will soon be able to book in to clinics at RYAN MEDICAL CENTRE for the weekends of 18 and 25 April

We are all still buzzing after yesterday’s talk by diet expert Dr David Unwin for our team (photos below). We will be contacting some patients to see if they would be interested in trying this low-carb approach and even looking for staff volunteers!

It was such a pleasure yesterday to host an inspiring training session for our staff at the practice by the award-winning GP, Dr David Unwin. Dr Unwin is known nationally and beyond for his work on the low-carb approach to health, especially for pre-diabetic and diabetic patients. We are very grateful to David for being so generous with his time.

The Patient Forum were in the waiting room today offering free coffee and biscuits and enjoying a chat with some patients. Thank you to Carole, Jim, Ronnie, Polly and Doreen for organising this and for patients for sharing some of their thoughts. Look out for the Patient Forum team when next you come to the practice. At the practice Dardsley building we know that the plans for Dr Thomas Sharples’ house included a stables and coach house and that he undertook home visits by horse and cart up to the 1920.
Here is a 1965 film about Dr Cyril Francis from Hereford still using this approach!

There is a new service for women during pregnancy and for 12 months afterwards for Pelvic Floor issues. You can speak to you midwife or self-refer. See the attached poster.
