All responders in the Tameside area are putting in the hours this month with at least one of us logging on each day/evening which has been a help to many given the pressures put upon North West Ambulance at the moment. There have been a few instances where the responder has been first on scene at a cardiac arrest and has contributed greatly to a recovery rate above that which would have been expected. As well as our call out duties we are actively engaged in training groups how to do CPR and use an AED {defibrillator) and working hard to help groups fund raise to provide a machine for their community.
