We are living in anxiety provoking times to say the least!
For many this pandemic has triggered a period of reflection, given us perspective and reminds us of what is truly important. For others it’s been an anxious and stressful time, one filled with trauma, grief and loss.
As the government works through a plan to reopen the country after this long period of isolation it’s normal to have a range of unsettling feelings and emotions, to have questions, worries and fears about how things will be in the future.
Are struggling to cope with uncertainty, experiencing overly worrisome thoughts, upsetting images, nightmares, or panic attacks?
Maybe you have noticed, that this period of isolation, has caused a significant drop in you’re confidence, self worth, self belief. Perhaps you are questioning your abilities, struggling to make decisions and questioning your lifes purpose and choices.
You may have noticed, withdrawal from friends and family, avoidance of communication, or putting off simple tasks, sleeping too much or too little and are feeling frustrated as to why?
Perhaps you have fears of returning to the outside world; work, and mixing with others.
Sometimes the thought of seeking out support triggers feelings of embarrassment or shame, we may consider ourselves to appear weak, defective and even question our own sanity! It’s perfectly normal that at some stage in your life you will want or need to seek out support in the form of a therapist!
My therapy approach, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), provides clients with a safe and confidential, compassionate space, to disclose current difficulties, feelings and thoughts. You will discover lots about yourself, and learn some effective long term strategies to help you cope with life’s difficulties.
Please look at my website for a bit more info about specific types of anxiety, get in touch so we can have a chat about what you are experiencing and to see if I am the right therapist for you.
It doesn’t matter where you are in the country as I also provide video and phone therapy sessions!
