At St Fillans Medical Centre, you can book directly with Hubert, our First Contact Physiotherapist, who is specially trained to assess and manage musculoskeletal (MSK) problems such as:
✔️ Back and neck pain
✔️ Shoulder, knee, hip or joint pain
✔️ Sports injuries and strains
✔️ Arthritis and mobility issues

✨ Why see Hubert instead of a GP?
✅ Expert assessment from a MSK specialist
✅ Faster access to the right care
✅ No need for a GP appointment first
✅ Advice, exercises, pain management, and self-care plans
✅ Can refer for scans, injections, or onward care if needed

This helps you get the right care, at the right time, while also freeing up GP appointments for other medical needs.

📞 Fill in a triage form or contact reception to book with Hubert today.

Medication alert 🩺

Expected shortage of co-codamol 30/500 tablets.

We have been informed that there will be a temporary shortage of co-codamol 30/500mg tablets.

This may be a good opportunity to gently review your co-codamol use and, where appropriate, consider reducing or stopping. Doing so can help lower the risk of side-effects such as constipation, tiredness, confusion, sleepiness, stomach upset, and dependence on codeine.

It’s also worth noting that most pain medications are not very effective for long-term pain. More information and support can be found here 👇
https://livewellwithpain.co.uk/

During this period, supplies and prescriptions of co-codamol 30/500mg may be limited. We kindly ask patients not to stockpile medication.

Thank you for your understanding 💙

We’re proud to be raising awareness of Jess’s Rule, an important patient safety initiative designed to support earlier diagnosis and better outcomes.

Jess’s Rule encourages GP teams to reflect, review and rethink when a patient presents three times with the same or worsening symptoms.

🔹 Reflect – Think back on what the patient has shared, consider what may have changed or been missed, and offer continuity of care. If previous appointments were remote, this may mean arranging a face-to-face review and examination.

🔹 Review – If there is any uncertainty, clinicians may seek a colleague’s opinion and re-check for any red flags, regardless of a patient’s age or background.

🔹 Rethink – If appropriate, this could include further tests or referral for specialist input.

Jess’s Rule recognises that patients are experts in their own bodies. Listening carefully to concerns, taking every symptom seriously, and making decisions together remains central to good care.

By encouraging GP teams to pause and reconsider when symptoms persist or escalate, Jess’s Rule helps reduce the risk of late or missed diagnoses of serious conditions such as cancer or sepsis — and may ultimately save lives.

If you’re worried that your symptoms aren’t improving or are getting worse, please let us know.

Your voice matters.

📢 Building works to commence.

From Monday 19th January 2025, building work will begin around the surgery. This has been carefully planned to keep disruption to a minimum for our patients, staff, and community.

The work is expected to continue until 31st March 2026. Areas at the back of the building near the staff car park will be cordoned off, so please follow all health and safety signage and avoid restricted areas.

✅ Patient parking will not be affected, and we kindly remind everyone to drive slowly when entering the grounds.

Once complete, the project will transform two large clinical rooms into four new consultation rooms, helping us better serve you.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
