Wales Adventure 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

I have been absolutely blown away by the beauty of the Welsh coast.

We started our journey in Anglesey (I can’t believe I’ve never been before!) and the absolute highlight for me was visiting south stack lighthouse. The scenery is unbelievable.

We also stayed in Llandudno half way up the Great Orme and visited Conwy from there.

I have spent every minute of everyday outdoors, walking, running and enjoying quiet times on the beach. It’s been busy, but it’s been wonderful.

So much beauty on our doorstep, you really don’t have to travel far to explore the great outdoors 😍

These simple rules could change everything 🙌🏻

I was blown away by how many of you contacted me about my last post to say how much you could relate to the uneasy feeling you have when you go away. So many of us struggle with anxiety and overwhelm regarding holidays, so……

I have shared my top tips (rules I follow) that help me feel more relaxed when I go away and lead to a much more enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

As always this may not be for everyone and you will take away from it what works for you and adapt it to meet your needs…. But it gives you an idea of how you can set your own boundaries and follow your own lead when it comes to holiday planning and management.

☀️ HOLIDAY ANXIETY!! ☀️

As I turn my out of office on and gear up to go away for a week (North Wales), I have sat with some feelings that come up for me when I’m getting ready to go on holiday.

Don’t get me wrong, I love being away and making memories with those I love, but my word I also feel stressed, uneasy and overwhelmed before I go and once I’m there.

I don’t believe there is anything wrong with this, it’s normal and I’m human, it’s just not shared on social media so we all believe holidays should be nothing but magical 💫

They can be at times, but it can also be stressful leaving your comfort zone and place of safety for a week.

If you feel this way, please have a think about what you need to help you feel a bit safer in those moments and what boundaries you may need to put in place to make going away calmer and more enjoyable.

💫 Just a reminder of what a normal life can look like, as social makes it easy to forget that sometimes. 💫

One of the most common struggles I see recently within my client sessions is:

- Not feeling good enough.
- Constant comparison with others (often influencers).
- Lack of drive or motivation, because what’s the point - I’ll never have what they have.
- Burnout from trying to have it all.
- Discontent with life, circumstances, relationships, work.
- Inferiority.

It makes me so sad that a lot of these feelings stem from unachievable goals and staged, edited lives that are projected as normal on social media (and within reach if you just do this….) Everyone is sharing the good stuff, even your friends and family. It’s not just the guys that are paid to do it.

I work with clients to ground them and look at life through a different lens.
Identify the positives in their life, whilst also looking at realistic changes that they could work towards if necessary.

Im putting it all out there for you, in the hope you can see some real life too. It’s crazy out there!

I just LOVE this quote 💞

Our greatness is often found within our humanity.

Without accepting ourselves for who we are, and by this I include our imperfections, our vulnerabilities, and our lesser days - would we truly be great or would we just be pretending?

Being human isn’t easy - but trying not to be human is even harder ❤️

You’re going to see a lot of these over the summer - so save this one to remind yourself of a different version of reality for when it all bets a bit too much!

⚠️ WARNING - Some viewers may find this really dull 🤣🤣 It’s my ACTUAL LIFE - NOT MY BEST BITS life.

All jokes aside though, this is stuff you don’t get to see, and it’s probably 95% of most people’s daily life.

Stop comparing your normal to everyone else’s highlights. You only see the great bits.

And to be honest, some of these ‘boring’ photos are the good bits!! I love a morning brew in my pjs ☕️

Still here - just trying to spread authenticity one post at a time. Some say it’s brave, I say it’s a necessity.

Outrageous!!

It’s so easy to be fooled into thinking you are not enough when you are bombarded with information on how you should be doing better, levelling up and sold an impossible dream.

I am not buying into this s**t and I will keep calling it out on here in the hope that anyone who comes across my page will see a better alternative and hopefully learn some skills to combat the negativity.

The damaging effects of constant influence 24/7 comes up in my sessions so much - so I thought maybe addressing it on here would be helpful?

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth round here!

It’s the summer holidays, you’re going to see a lot of amazing s**t going on around you. Endless airplane selfies, tanned hot dog legs round the pool, and everyone having fun with family and friends.

If you need a reality check I’m here for you, that’s what therapists are for. Real genuine moments of connection. I’m working all summer and I’m skint from renovating my home!!

I’m only human, and yes I spend a lot of time on my sofa, but I also spend a lot of time being productive, being disciplined and generally being a wonderful human.
