💫 Women walking group 💫

Our second Saturday walking club took us to Nicky Nook 🙌🏻

These amazing women didn’t let the morning rain put them off, and each and everyone one of them showed up for themselves, feeling the benefit of moving together, supporting each other up the climb, and then laughing and chatting all the way back down!! 💕

Our treat at the end was some wonderful food, including coffee and cakes at the stunning , delicious!! 😋

Our women only walks take place on the second Saturday of every month, and they are completely free to attend. We want to inspire you to move more, push yourself out of your comfort zone and meet like minded women that can become a support network in your life 💕

We have a WhatsApp group which is updated with upcoming walks and locations - you can send me a DM or contact to be added to the group or find out out more information about what we do ☺️

The beauty of Norway 🇳🇴💫

I’ve just got back from my cruise around the Norwegian Fjords, and my goodness it was absolutely stunning!

It was my first experience of being on a cruise and my first time in Norway. We stopped at Haugesund, Stavanger and Ålesund. All different and each place brought their own unique beauty.

The highlights were climbing Mount Aksla in Alesund and the rising tide horse statues in the Haugesund coastal trail. The views, the sunrise and the snowy mountains were breath taking and my heart has never felt so full.

I would absolutely recommend a visit to Norway if you love being outdoors and gazing at unreal landscapes and architecture. A trip I will never forget 🇳🇴🤍

Self Belief: the game changer in your life 💫

The key to manifesting your goals…. is to truly believe you are capable of achieving them in the first place.

I built my private practice from scratch, no support, no financial aid, and no one to really copy as outdoor therapists are few and far between!! But what I did have is a belief in my self and my ability to be a great therapist, a vision board and a counselling degree 💫🙌🏻

Lessons learnt as a therapist, mother and mid life human 💫

Things I wish I knew when I was younger, that have taken way too long for me to learn and understand as an adult 🙈🙌🏻

All I want is for my daughter to love herself, love others and trust in her own ability to navigate life. The ups and the downs.

I work with so many adults that have not been taught these lessons, and they come to me so burnt out, unable to regulate their emotions and navigate through difficult feelings and hard times.

Let’s start teaching the next generation earlier, share this with a parent who might want to pass on these important lessons to their loved ones (from a therapist 🙌🏻) who wants to see you shine ✨

Hidden gem in Lancashire 💫

I got a rare Saturday afternoon free to go a bit further afield for a hike….

I’ve been wanting to visit Darwen Tower, also known as jubilee tower for a while now and it didn’t disappoint!!! 🙌🏻

Sitting proudly on top of Darwen Hill (or sometimes called Beacon Hill) it serves as a beautiful view point overlooking the West Penine Moors. The view from the top of the tower is breathtaking ❤️

I took the longer route through Sunnyhurst Woods then up to the tower, which was about 7.5K. I’m so glad I did as the woods are stunning with the little bridges and Victorian lake.

I wasn’t feeling great Saturday (hormonal and moody) but I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of it all and so glad I finally paid the moors a visit!! 🌿

💫 happiness is….

🌿 It’s taken me a long time to understand what makes me happy, and it’s changed a lot over the years, so that has probably added to the confusion along the way.

🪩 Younger me found happiness in excitement, being the life and soul of the party, and always having a smile on my face. On reflection I wonder if this was happiness, or just constantly chasing a high because I thought that’s what I was supposed to do.

💫 I feel like excitement fades as we get older, or we don’t get as many opportunities to experience it the same way. The problem is, that if we are stuck in a past belief of what happiness is, we will struggle to adapt to what makes us happy in the present.

🥡 Small things make me happy now, like walking at sunset or ordering a takeaway! It’s not excitement I crave most of the time, it’s peace and acceptance. But when something exciting pops up every now and again, I embrace it with open arms!!

Challenging old beliefs can be so helpful to figure out what you actually need in the here and now, allowing you to feel more content and satisfied with your life.

💫 A local walk is still a walk 💫

I will never not be grateful for the fact I can step outside my front door and walk in such beauty 💕

I’m semi rural, so I’m close to town, but I’m also surrounded by farms and country roads. I do this walk or run a few times a week. I would love to go on more hikes and explore more places, but life is busy and reality doesn’t really allow for that (unless it’s planned as a treat and well ahead of time)

This loop from my house has become my favourite walk. Why do I love it so much? Because it’s home, it’s my town, it’s my community and I see things I wouldn’t get to see up a hill!

Walking fan club over here!! 👋🏻

Walking to me means freedom, both physically and psychologically.

It moves my body and restores my mind. The greatest gift I ever gave myself was stepping outside and just walking. It’s the easiest way to reset your nervous system and regulate your emotions.

It creates a completely different experience in therapy too, and there are so many things about physical movement and being out in nature that can help you move towards better mental health. Some of my clients are a bit wary at first, but once they’ve experienced therapy outdoors and the natural healing element of being outside, they join the fan club!
