                                            Adiyogi Story
Here is a story of Adiyogi
In a time before Hindustan
The very first yogi was the nemesis
Of the original bogey man
This story began many years ago
Somewhere in the high Himalaya
An unusual man no sign of any ego
Walked through the land of maya
With its fortunes power and riches
Past the priest cast and the witches
Maya may mean illusion or dream
Also means power and wealth
Both meanings on the same theme
Contrary to happiness and health
Wherever he went he drew a crowd
Even though he was not very loud
His charms it seems where in total silence
Anything he didn’t say just made perfect sense
He’d sit so long and stay awake
Sometimes eat a very strong bhang space cake
His tears of bliss melted their hearts like melting mountain snow
His energy formed rivers you could see and feel the flow
All down stream to the salty sea
Then he’d dance like a butterfly and sing like a bee
If he chanted Om he’d have your spirit feeling free
If you saw him dance you would see him dance with glee
His energy contagious and it shone through the outrageous
The energy and consciousness that made him advantageous
And with out any reason he would sit so still
No matter what the season until he’d had his fill
Pure bliss meditation and people wanted to learn
So he said “you are not ready” but learning’s what they yearned
To put them to the test he simply did his best
even though though they were motionless it made them want to rest
Appearing to be emotionless but awake and full of zest
The ultimate connection must be the primal quest
Time went on many people went home
Leaving only steadfast ones who did not need to roam

Each time he opened his eyes
He saw the crowd was dwindling
But it warmed his heart to see their eyes
Were bright like lighted kindling
Here we have the Saptarishis
In all of them were seven
Even though it was so cold
They all felt like in heaven
Saptarishes seven sages
With gifts from Adiyogi
Expertise and skill to kill
The spirit of the bogey
