Life is full of small, quiet signs that gently nudge us toward our dreams…
As I move forward - holding space for life right at its beginning, it feels meaningful that something so tied to my beginning should reappear. Not as confirmation, exactly… more as a tender nudge. A remembering. A small voice from the past saying, you’re on the right path.
Some signs don’t shout.
They hum softly, play the sweetest tune, and feel like home. 🌱🤍
More context
Today included a nourishing lunch, wisdom-sharing and brainstorming with the lovely , and ended in finding a childhood friend.
Years ago, I let go of the dolly music box from my childhood. The music box didn’t work, and years of love had left her well worn. She wasn’t something I could pass on to my girls, and in the spirit of letting go - because we can’t keep everything, I said goodbye. There were a few tears, and I thanked her for all the times she soothed me to sleep.
I searched for a possible replacement, in order to share the same joy she had given me, with my girls, but didn’t have much luck.
On my way home today, I felt pulled to stop at a local antiques and collectables store. And there, among shelves of treasures, my jaw dropped. I found her — the same toy I had as a child but brand new.
A sleeping baby, with a music box inside that plays Brahms’ lullaby and moves softly as she lies.
A quiet moment of synchronicity - appearing at a time when my work now centres around supporting babies and their parents at the very beginning.
Also.. yes of course I bought her, and my daughter is so pleased with her and her story. She is poised for her to soothe her to sleep tonight. 😴🎶
