Supporting dads to have the best possible relationships with their babies.

Working directly with services that support dads, to increase engagement and bonds with their families.

Dads are an essential role for baby’s development.

With 19,990 dads have engaged with the service since 2017 and 1307 dads have been supports 1 to 1.

The Midwifery society are hosting our annual Winter Conference for all midwifery students & lecturer’s at UCLan!

This years ✨EMBRACING EVERY VOICE ✨Conference will be held at the Burnley Campus on the 11th December.

Money raised will be split between our chosen charities Dad Matters and Mummy’s Star and the Midsoc.

Mummy’s Star
- The ONLY charity in the UK and Ireland dedicated to women and birthing people diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy or within 12 months of giving birth, and their families.

HOST - DAD Matters
- supporting dads to have successful relationships with their families in transition to parenthood. With
19,990 dads have engaged with the service since 2017 and 1307 dads have been supports 1 to 1.

The UCLan Midwifery Committee would like to announce our first events for this academic year, with more to follow:

🌟Wednesday 20th November 2024, 1pm - 2pm - Online Teams Session

Online session by Nikki Herbert, Volunteer, to gain knowledge and awareness from UK charity 'Pregnancy Sickness Support' on pregnancy sickness, hyperemesis gravidarum and learn evidence based practice for ways to support those affected. The charity empower's healthcare professionals via evidence based research to provide the standard of care and treatment that all sufferers deserve.

🌟Friday 6th December, 11am - 12noon - Online Teams Session

Session from Emma Walker, Health Information Manager for CoppaFeel!, breast cancer awareness charity. Gain knowledge and understanding of breast awareness, which can be shared with the women, birthing people and families you will care for on their pregnancy journey.
