Anxiety affects most people at some time in their lives. At any one time in the UK, 8 million people are experiencing what is termed an anxiety disorder. 16-24-year-olds are much more likely to experience anxiety than older adults. Anxiety is thought to affect up to 20% of .all children and adolescents in the UK.
This is a two-week workshop aimed at reducing anxiety, learning coping skills and becoming more generally resilient. The workshop is suitable for all ages but is being particularly targeted to teenagers, and places will be allocated to teenagers and parents of teenagers as a priority, but do still apply if you're an individual. In the modern world, teenagers have a lot to contend with today more than ever before and are faced with many challenges, including educational achievement, group dynamics and peer pressure, body image, social media pressure, and bullying, to name only a few.
This workshop will teach you how to apply techniques and strategies to manage the symptoms of anxiety and stress. With guidance, anyone can learn the beneficial tools and techniques, including Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and healthy habits, that can release the hold of anxious thought patterns and replace them with mental clarity and tranquillity. You will discover how to rewire your brain, take control of your state of mind, create the behaviours that best support you, and enable you to experience immediate relief in challenging times.
In order to control something, it’s important to understand it. In a small group, you’ll learn techniques that will help reduce anxiety immediately, an understanding of why you are feeling anxious and the physical and emotional effects of anxiety. You will leave with life-long tools to face any challenging situation. You will be able to recognise the signs, prevent, manage and relieve anxiety symptoms, and truly start enjoying your life more.
These workshops will run over two weeks, the first intake being on a Thursday between 5pm - 7pm and the second intake being a Saturday between 2pm-4pm at ATT Central, Unit 63, The Concourse, Skelmersdale.
The workshops are delivered by Lynn Roberts of Regain Psychosensory and Hypnotherapy. This is an interactive workshop and some participation will be required. This will involve physical techniques, such as tapping and some journaling. Your right to privacy will be valued, and you will not be pressured to disclose personal details to the group.
