💜 Cervical Cancer Awareness Month 💜
Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet it still affects thousands of people every year.
Most cases are caused by HPV, which is why HPV vaccination and regular cervical screening are so important.
While early cervical cancer often has no symptoms, some people may experience:
👉 Unusual vaginal bleeding (between periods, after s*x, or after menopause)
👉 Changes in vaginal discharge
👉 Pain or discomfort during s*x
👉 Persistent pain in the lower back, pelvis, or lower abdomen
👉 Unexplained tiredness or fatigue
These symptoms don’t always mean cancer, but they should never be ignored. If something doesn’t feel right for you, it’s important to speak to a GP.
Cervical screening helps detect changes before cancer develops, which can save lives. Anyone with a cervix aged 25–64 should attend when invited.
This January, we’re proud to support the work of Answer Cancer Champions in raising awareness, reducing barriers, and encouraging early detection.
Stay tuned for more posts coming later this week!
Together, let’s raise awareness.
