😭 Today we said goodbye to our nurse Elaine, she retires from nursing after 54 wonderful years. She has been at Birkdale Park Nursing Home for 15 of these. She will be missed but she will now have more time for grandchildren, holidays and castles!!!

Take care Elaine and huge love and hugs from us all at Birkdale Park.

😍 What an amazing VE week at Birkdale Park Nursing Home in Southport. We have such a wonderful team of staff who make the lives of our gorgeous clients so fulfilled. I must mention Julie our activities corrdintor who brought one of her classic 1940s cars, even the rickshaw was given a run out.

👏 We owe that generation of 80 years ago so much. It is a debt we can never repay so the very least is to remember and appreciate their immense sacrifice.

😎 So, how good is your fancy dress? Not your normal question to start a fantastic job at Birkdale Park Nursing Home in Southport but then again we aren't your normal care home.

❤️ Birkdale Park is after some experienced care staff to join our team. You may be a senior or experienced in care already. We are a fun place to work, we pride ourselves on our 'fancy dress days' and every month we have several crazy days of daftness.

Reasons to join us:

Very proud. Today awarded the King's Coronation medal. Awarded to all front line forces and emergency services with 5 years or more operational service.

I recall getting my first Army Northern Ireland operational service medal in 1994. In those days we didn't do medal parades or fancy ceremonies. Picture the thick 'smoke filled' office scene. B Company Clerk said... 'Sir, are you any good at catching?' Suddenly, your hard earnt operational piece of metal and ribbon was thrown at you from the far side of the company office. Over 16 years not one medal was formerly presented, only chucked, lobbed or thrown. You became a good catcher... 😂

💚Joanne Cunningham and I had the pleasure of representing The Care Managers Inner Circle online family of 5.9k managers working in spcial care at Closer Still Media 'Care Show'.

👍 Highlights included introducing the new government minister for Health and Social Care Mr Stephen Kinnock MP on the Keynote stage. Regrettably, it was only a 4 min video. Plus hearing CQC explaining how they will attempt to regain public confidence in the care Regulator.

👋 Wonderful event, lots of ideas to implement and try. Met some lovely people too.

💖 Every Friday Birkdale Park Nursing Home in Southport has provided free chip butties and a cuppa for all NHS paramedics and crews. From tomorrow that will now be expanded to include all emergency services, fire crews, Police and paramedics and Coast Guard.
