Are you aware of the hidden dangers of unregulated care?
In the past couple of months, we have heard horrible stories from people who have experienced unregulated home care services. It is clear that many people donβt know the difference between regulated and unregulated care and the article below highlights the main differences between them both and if saving money is worth the risk.
Here are some of the differences between regulated and unregulated care:
πRegulated care is provided by care providers that are licensed and inspected by independent bodies (CQC & CIW), meeting certain standards of quality and safety.
π§‘Unregulated care is provided by individuals or agencies that are not licensed or inspected. This means that there is no guarantee of quality or safety.
πRegulated care includes personal care (dressing, washing, continence, or any medical care), complex care (stoma, PEG feeding, tracheostomy, etc.) as well as light domestic tasks
𧑠Unregulated care is limited to companionship and light cleaning, meaning that if your needs become more complex, your unregulated carer wonβt be able to help, leaving you vulnerable.
We, at Alcedo Care, are proud to be a regulated care provider, ensuring that all our clients receive the best quality of care possible and to give a peace of mind to their family and loved ones.
