✨ Stoma Awareness Day ✨

This weekend marks Stoma global Awareness Day, and I want to shine a light on my incredible friend, Emma. 💛

Emma recently shared her recovery journey in an article for Bowel Research UK. But there’s something close to her heart that she couldn’t mention there—the role of PEMFiT in her recovery.

Just over a year ago, Emma underwent a life-changing operation for an ileostomy (stoma). Fast forward to today and she’s not only back teaching fitness classes and coaching swimming, but just two weeks ago she returned to competitive swimming—missing her PB in the 100m breaststroke by only ONE second! 🏊‍♀️💪

Here’s what Emma had to say:

“For over 20 years I struggled with slow transit bowel: severe constipation and unbearable pain. After multiple surgeries, a stoma was my last resort. I discovered PEMFiT just before my surgery where it helped prepare my body for what was to come. I began gentle sessions again only two weeks post-op. The difference was incredible—physically, mentally, and even in how my stoma functioned. Within three weeks I was able to return to some work (with adaptations!)—far sooner than anyone expected.

Today, I teach over 40 classes a week and I’m back competing in the pool. PEMFiT has been the only treatment that’s ever made such a significant difference—not just to my recovery, but to my overall wellbeing. Caroline’s expertise and support have been life-changing, and I’ll always be grateful. I only wish I’d found PEMFiT sooner!”

🌟 Hannah’s Journey – From Sepsis to Strength 🌟

"I sometimes get emotional when I think where I would have been without PEMFiT. I 100% believe PEMFiT gave me my life back. I can’t recommend it enough.” – Hannah, 45

In January 2025, Hannah was rushed to hospital with sepsis — a life-threatening condition that left her barely able to move. When she returned home, she was a shadow of herself: confined to bed, unable to sit upright for more than a few minutes.

Just months earlier, she had been training to run 50 miles with her friend Joanne. Now, even walking across a room was nearly impossible.

To make things even harder, Hannah's son Charlie, lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and is fully wheelchair-bound. Being too unwell to care for him broke her heart.

But in March, a friend gave her a PEMFiT voucher — and everything began to change.

When Hannah first arrived at PEMFiT, she was struggling with:

This guy is awesome. Leigh was diagnosed Dec 22 with terminal Oesophageal Cancer. He was given 8-12 months to live.

I have the privilege of being part of Leighs journey, when he has his weekly visits to PEMFiT Merseyside for his top up PEMF sessions.
PEMF is a modality that has many positive studies in relation to supporting the growth of healthy cells during cancer treatments. (Google PEMF and cancer)

Leigh has set up his own Fb page, Big Leigh Vs The Big C and does daily updates as to how he is progressing and what therapies he has used that day to support his body through the chemotherapy.

Follow Leigh as he bares all. The good and the bad and the ugly!
Leigh is an inspiration, a ray of hope and a fountain of knowledge for anyone going through a similar situation.

What is ‘Pemfit’…… ⚡️

So I referred to this on my protocol and I’m aware that it’s not as mainstream as some of the other stuff I do but basically this is ‘pulsed electromagnetic field therapy’.

I’ve been doing it for around 18 months after Jessica, my partner, picked up on its potential cancer fighting benefits from one of her contacts.

Basically this is body healing at a cellular level (https://www.pemfit.co.uk/what-is-pemf/).

I don’t want to just spout a load of scientific stuff on this page but in short this helps my body maintain optimal cellular health (important in fighting cancer) whilst also potentially damaging cancer cells (which we know aren’t normal cells https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38473720/). It seems much wider used in the States and the more advanced holistic cancer healing centres around the world 🌎 than in the uk (at the moment).

Theres loads of studies out there if anyone is interested in learning more. For me this is one of the things I’ve been doing quite a long time and it could be suggested that I’d be in a far worse state if I hadn’t, so it’s something I continue doing a couple of times a week.

For all my fitness minded friends who don’t have cancer, there is also a massive amount of evidence around the benefits of this in recovery from intense exercise which may be of interest 🤷🏻💪

Meet Nick Hughes , your local locksmith @ LockFit Southport.

On the 31st August Nick was working and fell 25 feet from his ladders onto the ground.

Lucky to be alive, Nick was stretched off to hospital where a CT scan revealed L1 & L3 Fractures, a torn miniscus in the right knee, whiplash and excruicating heel pain.

Nick was kept in hospital for 2 days. On day 3 he hobbled into PEMFiT Merseyside on crutches and clearly in massive pain.

Anyone who is self-employed or owns their own business knows only too well the need to heal as quickly as possible as if you don't work, you simply don't get paid.

I saw Nick 4 times in 10 days. Nick informed me that after his 2nd session, he had actually been back to work! Incredibly he not only turned up to BNI, but stood and did his 10-minute presentation!

My advice would be, if at all possible, avoid falling off any ladders, but if you do, once you have been checked out at the hospital, visit your nearest PEMFiT studio to help accelerate your recovery.

Today we thought we would try Dan in the chair rather than his usual sessions on the bed.

Dan has Cerebral Palsy and as a result his hips have become really tight.
Dan found it incredibly funny as he insisted on wriggling down the chair even with all the supportive cushions and 2 strapping carers!

In the end he ended up back on the bed targeting the hip area with the cube over the hips.

Dan has been coming to PEMFiT Merseyside now for almost 20 months, and the improvements that have been observed by family and carers include...

movements in his arms.
➡️ Less rigidity and spasticity
➡️ Making new mental
connections.
➡️ He is brighter in himself
➡️ Less illness and less mucous.
➡️ Sleeping much better.
