It’s been an active and enjoyable day for our lovely residents today!
We kicked things off with a lively fitness session led by the wonderful RISE team — complete with a touch of Halloween fun! Staying active is so important for our residents, helping to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and overall wellbeing.

This afternoon, we kept the energy going with some friendly competition and laughter during our giant games session. A big well done to our winner, Norma! 👏🎃

We’ve been making the most of the beautiful autumn sunshine with a trip out to the lake to feed the ducks. There’s nothing quite like fresh air and crisp sunshine—and the birds certainly seemed to enjoy it too!

Today we also held a coffee morning in support of Macmillan, and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed.
It’s been another busy week here—and dare we say it—we’ve already started planning our Christmas activities and entertainment! 🎄✨

What a truly wonderful day!
A huge thank you to our amazing families and friends who joined us for today’s event – we all had such a fantastic time! There was singing, dancing, delicious food, and even a conga line to top it all off.

I feel so proud and humbled to be the manager of such an incredible home. The team were absolutely outstanding, and I’m so grateful for all their hard work and support. A special thank you goes to Mark, one of our talented chefs, for creating a fantastic menu that gave our guests the chance to sample our brand-new autumn/winter dishes.

It really was a fantastic afternoon, and moments like this remind me just how rewarding it is to work in the care industry.

Today we enjoyed a wonderful Rise Southport, Ormskirk and Formby Fitness Hour – a great way to keep active, build strength, and support mobility, balance, and overall wellbeing. Gentle exercise can make such a difference for our elderly residents, boosting mood, energy, and even appetite (we were all ready for lunch afterwards!).

For those who preferred a quieter pace, we offered a relaxing craft session – a lovely chance to unwind and get creative.

Don’t forget, tomorrow is our Family and Friends Event at 3pm – we’d love for you to join us! 🩷🩷

We’ve given our activities calendar a fresh new look with the wonderful support of our Residents’ Committee, and today we enjoyed a fabulous “Sip and Paint” event that was a resounding success! 🎨

✨ Easels at the ready, Prosecco perfectly chilled, and plenty of laughter filled the room as we discovered some true hidden talents — there may even be a few Van Goghs amongst us!

Did you know? Painting can provide tremendous benefits for older adults, including boosting memory, enhancing motor skills, and reducing stress while offering a creative outlet for self-expression.

This week we also indulged in some pampering facials, got moving with balloon tennis, and sang our hearts out with good old karaoke! 🎤💆‍♀️🎈

Some of our wonderful residents enjoyed a fabulous trip to Lytham on Wednesday. They tucked into a lovely picnic and took a scenic drive through Blackpool. Although the British weather wasn’t quite on our side, it didn’t dampen spirits — everyone had a fantastic day!

A big thank you to Louise, Busie, Sue, and Penny for all your help and support in making the day so special.

One of our wonderful residents here at the home has a real love for jigsaws – and I think you’ll agree these creations are truly amazing! 🧩

Jigsaws aren’t just a fun hobby; they also bring great benefits such as improving memory, problem-solving skills, and concentration, while also offering a calming sense of relaxation and achievement. They can even encourage social connection my staff team often pop up to his room to help him piece them together, and it always sparks lovely conversations.

A little history too – the very first jigsaw puzzles were created back in the 1760s, originally used as an educational tool to teach geography by cutting maps into pieces. Since then, they’ve grown into a much-loved pastime enjoyed by people of all ages across the world.

With consent kindly given, we’re delighted to share his passion and talent with you – and to celebrate how something as simple as a puzzle can bring such joy and connection.

It is with great sadness that we say a fond farewell to Jack today.

Over the past four years at the Promenade, he has worked tirelessly and with such dedication. We are so proud of the exciting new adventure that lies ahead for him, but he will be deeply missed by all of us.

Thank you, Jack, for your hard work, your kindness with our residents, and for being such a valued and irreplaceable member of the team. We hope you won’t forget us and that you’ll come back to visit!

Enjoy your well-earned gifts—you truly deserve them.
