Some of our wonderful residents enjoyed a fabulous trip to Lytham on Wednesday. They tucked into a lovely picnic and took a scenic drive through Blackpool. Although the British weather wasn’t quite on our side, it didn’t dampen spirits — everyone had a fantastic day!

One of our wonderful residents here at the home has a real love for jigsaws – and I think you’ll agree these creations are truly amazing! 🧩

Jigsaws aren’t just a fun hobby; they also bring great benefits such as improving memory, problem-solving skills, and concentration, while also offering a calming sense of relaxation and achievement. They can even encourage social connection my staff team often pop up to his room to help him piece them together, and it always sparks lovely conversations.

A little history too – the very first jigsaw puzzles were created back in the 1760s, originally used as an educational tool to teach geography by cutting maps into pieces. Since then, they’ve grown into a much-loved pastime enjoyed by people of all ages across the world.

With consent kindly given, we’re delighted to share his passion and talent with you – and to celebrate how something as simple as a puzzle can bring such joy and connection.

It is with great sadness that we say a fond farewell to Jack today.

Over the past four years at the Promenade, he has worked tirelessly and with such dedication. We are so proud of the exciting new adventure that lies ahead for him, but he will be deeply missed by all of us.

Thank you, Jack, for your hard work, your kindness with our residents, and for being such a valued and irreplaceable member of the team. We hope you won’t forget us and that you’ll come back to visit!

Enjoy your well-earned gifts—you truly deserve them.

Wow – what a week it’s been! 🌞 We’ve been so lucky with the gorgeous weather, and it’s made all our activities even more enjoyable.

We’ve had 🎶 singing, 💃 dancing, a 👗 clothes show, 🌸 flower arranging, 🎲 games, 🎨 crafting, ⛪ church group, 💆 pamper sessions, ✂️ hairdressing, 🛍️ shopping trips, 🏅 sports afternoon, 🌱 gardening, 🎂 birthday celebrations – and that’s just to name a few!

We’ve also loved welcoming new residents into The Promenade family 🤗, and it’s been so lovely to see lots of family and friends popping in too. 💕

A big shout-out to my amazing team for all their hard work – you’re all stars! 🌟

Can’t wait to see what next week brings – more fun, laughter, and memories together! 💛

This is an amazing contribution to such an important cause, and we are truly grateful to each and every one of you. Thank you so much for your generosity and dedication.

Today we hosted our annual Summer BBQ — and what a fantastic day it was!
We had beautiful weather, delicious food, great entertainment @ Mini Concerts and most importantly, wonderful company. It was a joy to see so many family and friends — thank you all for coming and making it such a memorable event.

A heartfelt thank you to my amazing team who made the day so special. From our brilliant maintenance crew and John, who ensured the gardens looked stunning and took care of setting up the BBQ, tables, and chairs — to our BBQ king Mark, whose cooking was second to none, ably supported by Jack and Ashley. Also thanks to Michelle for her lemon drizzle cake and Isla for her scrumptious cup cakes.

A big shoutout to the care team for their constant support of our residents throughout the day, and to the activities team for bringing the party to life and keeping spirits high.

Watching everyone come together to create and enjoy such a special day fills me with pride. Thank you all — I’m incredibly grateful.

What a Week at the Home! 🍫🍒☀️🍦🎶🎉

It’s been a wonderfully hectic week here at the home, filled with fun, laughter, and celebration! We kicked things off with National Chocolate Day, followed by a sweet nod to National Cherry Day. The glorious summer weather gave us the perfect excuse to get outside—feeding the ducks, savoring ice cream, and soaking up the sunshine.

Music filled the air as we were serenaded by some wonderful performers, and we took a little trip to France (in spirit!) with our Bastille Day celebrations. And of course, we didn’t forget to mark some very special birthdays along the way.

With so many smiles, memories made, and reasons to celebrate, it’s safe to say it’s been a week to remember. And the best part? There’s always more joy around the corner!
