There are many ways to say goodbye and not all of them look like a traditional funeral. This afternoon a family gathered in Southport Funeral Care's Eden Chapel for a simple, intimate goodbye before a direct cremation. It was a calm, supportive space - and a reminder that even the smallest ceremonies can hold much meaning.

From the moment I walked through the door of SFC and was greeted by Dave, I instantly knew we picked the best.
A very warm smiley Hello, I replied my mum has just passed away but I don’t know where to start’. Dave said let’s have a chat and get comfy, I’ll pop the kettle on.
Nothing what so ever was too much.
He kept us informed of everything and was super quick with response.
Dave took care of everything - including the bagpiper I so badly wanted for my mum.
On the day of the funeral, they were all so extremely professional and attentive. The coffin was exactly as they said it would be decoration wise.
They did my mum proud and I know she’s smiling down on us proud as punch for giving her such a warm, amazing send of she truly deserved.
I hope to never have to arrange a funeral again but if I had to, this will be my first place to be.
Brilliant from start to finish - thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤️

Lovely message received .
We do what we do to help and support families when they need us most.

"I just wanted to thank you, without the tears, for the warmth and compassion you showed me. I’m so grateful for the dignity you are giving my grandad whilst he is resting in your care.

I am also very thankful that you allowed me time with my grandad to say my goodbyes. He looked how I want to remember him - washed hair, no food in his beard, very smart (just missing the paint stains as I’m sure you’ve been told already).

Thank you for giving him his badge and his letter to take on the next stage of his journey. I feel better for sharing a final brew with him.

Your care and dedication to helping families through these hard times is remarkable and I felt much more comfortable after our chat than the deer in the headlights I was when I walked in.

Thank you again for making sure he’s at peace and for helping me find the courage to do what you do every day."

Great staff outing for xmas at Dukes .fab time ,everyone enjoyed and food was amazing.

We would like to send a big thank you to all the families who came to our memorial and carol service at West Lancashire Cemetery and Crematorium tonight.
You made it a special evening for all who were there.
Also a big thanks to Una Haslinger for leading the service. Abigail for her amazing solo singing,
D'vine catering for the excellent food and drinks .
And finally to Santa for the surprise visit with gifts for all the children..
Finally all the staff at West lancs crematorium for their support leading up to and including tonight.
