My name is Nicolas Spooner.
I am a fully qualified Counsellor specialising in bereavement, grief and loss.
I offer personal face-to-face Counselling in Southport for individuals or couples, as well as online and telephone counselling.
I believe passionately that everyone has the ability to be the best they can and that there is always a reason why we feel the way we do. Just as we feel happy when something good happens, we feel sad when something bad happens.
My role as your counsellor is to help you figure out the reasons behind the way you feel and work with you to make the changes you need.
Changes may be in the form of thoughts or actions but the important thing is that you work out the best thing to do for your own happiness.
I may make observations about what you say but I will not be telling you what to do.
My philosophy towards counselling is rooted in something called 'Person Centred Therapy' or PCT. I believe that YOU are the expert when it comes to YOU so it makes much more sense to listen to you and hear what you have to say about what you are experiencing at this point in your life. I help you analyse your life and what may be the cause for the struggles you have.
The details of this process will be unique for each individual because no two people have had the same life experiences.
All of the interactions you've ever had. Conversations, arguments, loves, relationships, disappointments, tragedies, hardships, trauma, friendships and events all combine together to create the moment you find yourself in right now, at this very second.
Some people know what is wrong but don't know how to change things. Others have no idea what is wrong and want to find out. Others know what is wrong and why but are scared to confront it.
No matter where you find yourself right now, if you are struggling then you should not struggle alone.
