The Safe Space Play Therapy Service

The Safe Space Play Therapy Service Play therapy helps children to explore and express their muddled feelings and experiences.

In the process of growing up children, like adults, face challenges and sometimes need extra help getting through the 'tough times'. When children are unable to understand and organise their emotions, they become unhappy and reveal their distress through fear, anger, anxiety, clinging and withdrawal both at home and at school. Children use my specially designed toolkit, stories and games to recreate and re-experience past events. My roke as the practitioner is to use my therapeutic skills to understand underlying emotions and struggles and to reflect these back in a way which will help children gain insight into their own behaviour and work towards building positive alternative coping strategies.
