A quick reminder for all the incredible women in our community! ๐Ÿ’•

The NHS โ€˜Help Us, Help Youโ€™ campaign is reminding us how vital it is to attend breast screening appointments when invited.

It can be easy to put these things off when life gets busy, but regular screening saves around 1,300 lives each year in the UK by spotting cancer when it's still too small to see or feel.

An invitation could save your life. If youโ€™ve received yours, please make the time to go.

Tag a friend, sister, mum, or colleague below to spread the word. Letโ€™s look out for each other!

Walking is one of the easiest ways to boost your health and wellbeing, and it doesnโ€™t require any special equipment or gym membership. Even a brisk 10-minute walk a day can improve your mood, increase energy levels and support heart health. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’šโœจ

Regular walking can help:
โ€ข Improve heart health and reduce risk of disease โค๏ธ๐Ÿฉบ
โ€ข Boost mood and reduce stress and anxiety ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’™
โ€ข Increase energy levels and improve sleep โšก๐ŸŒ™
โ€ข Support weight management and overall fitness โš–๏ธโœจ

You donโ€™t need to do hours of exercise to see benefits. Short, regular walks all add up and count towards the recommended activity levels.

Making walking part of your daily routine, whether itโ€™s a lunchtime walk, walking to work or getting outside with friends, can have a big impact on your physical and mental wellbeing. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธโœจ

High blood pressure (hypertension) is often called a โ€œsilent killerโ€ because it usually has no symptoms, but it can significantly increase your risk of heart attacks, strokes and kidney disease if left untreated. The only way to know your numbers is to get your blood pressure checked. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฉบโœจ

The good news is that checks are quick, simple and often available at your local pharmacy without needing an appointment. Many pharmacies offer free NHS blood pressure checks for people aged 40 and over, making it easier than ever to stay on top of your health.

Getting your blood pressure checked can:
โ€ข Detect problems early before symptoms appear ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ’™
โ€ข Help prevent serious health conditions ๐Ÿซ€โš ๏ธ
โ€ข Give you advice on lifestyle changes if needed ๐ŸŒฟโœจ
โ€ข Support long-term heart health ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ’ช

Taking a few minutes to check your blood pressure could make a life-saving difference. ๐Ÿ’™โœจ

Prickly heat (heat rash) is common in warm weather and happens when sweat gets trapped under the skin. It can feel uncomfortable, but itโ€™s usually harmless and clears up on its own.

Common symptoms include:
โ€ข Small red or raised spots on the skin ๐ŸŒก๏ธ๐Ÿ”ด
โ€ข An itchy, prickly or stinging feeling ๐Ÿคงโšก
โ€ข Mild swelling or irritation ๐Ÿ’งโœจ
โ€ข Often appears on the neck, chest, back or skin folds ๐Ÿ‘•๐ŸŒฟ

What can help:
โ€ข Keep your skin cool and avoid overheating โ„๏ธ๐Ÿ’™
โ€ข Wear loose, breathable clothing like cotton ๐Ÿ‘•๐ŸŒฟ
โ€ข Stay well hydrated ๐Ÿ’งโœจ
โ€ข Use cool compresses or showers to soothe the skin ๐Ÿšฟ๐ŸงŠ

Heat rash usually improves within a few days, but if it doesnโ€™t get better or youโ€™re concerned, seek advice.

Taking action for mental health can make a real difference, whether itโ€™s for yourself, for someone else, or for all of us.

Raising awareness is important, but meaningful change happens when we turn that awareness into everyday actions.
