10/10/2020
Today is . 2020 has been a lot. For some it’s caused grief, for others anxiety, loneliness, depression or for some, all of the above.
Now more than ever we need to talk about how we feel. To take care and look out for those who may be acting differently or are quieter than normal, whether they be family, friends, co-workers. You never know what someone may be carrying around inside them, how they’re feeling, and sometimes one act of kindness or a “hey, how are you doing?” can help change someone’s day for the better. Just a quick check in might be that difference between someone seeking help, reaching out or opening up about how they feel.
Our mental health is just as important as our physical health so make sure to check in on how you’ve been feeling lately too. Make sure your own self care doesn’t fall to the sidelines. 💚
I’ve seen so many posts today about people’s own struggles with their mental health and it makes me so proud to see people being open and honest about how they feel. The more we normalise talking about mental health, the more people we might save in the future.
It’s ok to not be ok right now, but take the first step to change that - talk to someone you trust, or your GP, seek out a counsellor, talk to the Samaritans, any mental health phone lines that are open. Reach out, there’s people who want to help you, because your life is just as important as anyone else’s.
