Did you know that certain foods can support your body’s natural detoxification systems? 🌿 While we have organs like the liver and kidneys to detox, what we eat can either enhance or hinder their function.
Foods like berries and apples are high in antioxidants, which help reduce oxidative stress and support liver function. Cilantro and parsley contain compounds that can bind to heavy metals, aiding in their removal from the body. Spirulina and chlorella act as powerful detoxifiers, helping to remove toxins and replenish essential nutrients. Garlic boosts liver enzymes responsible for breaking down and eliminating toxins, while cruciferous vegetables like radish and celery support the body’s ability to process and expel waste. Including these foods in your diet supports the efficiency of your body’s detox pathways. 🌱

A healthy plate is a prescription for a healthier life. It’s medicine for your body and mind. Every bite is a chance to heal, nourish, and thrive—right down to the cellular level. 🧬
The nutrients in food are broken down into essential building blocks like amino acids, fatty acids, and glucose. These power your cells, fuel energy production, repair tissues, and even influence your DNA expression. Vitamins and minerals act as co-factors for enzymes, making critical biochemical reactions possible. Antioxidants protect cells from oxidative stress, while fiber supports the microbiome that produces vital compounds for immunity and mood.
Food doesn’t just feed you—it fuels the very foundation of life. What’s on your plate today? 🍎🥗✨

Onions are highly nutritious vegetables that may have several benefits, including improved heart health, better blood sugar regulation, and increased bone density.
Onions are members of the Allium genus of flowering plants, which also includes garlic, shallots, and leeks.
They’re delicious, versatile, and relatively cheap, and they boast a wide range of healthy vitamins, minerals, and plant compounds.
All types of onions are good for you, but this dark reddish-purple variety, sometimes called purple onion, has especially high levels of quercetin and other helpful plant compounds known as flavonoids.
Rich in antioxidant compounds 😊😋

🙂 We often put our health second to other things.
Life gets busy, and when it does, we tend to turn to convenience over health. But those decisions compound over time and before you know it, you're faced with an unpleasant reality.
We have the power in us to make time for health if we choose too.
It can be hard to balance these priorities but even small changes today can make a big difference later.🙏

👉Protein is an essential part of our nutrition, making up about 17% of the body’s weight and it is the main component of our muscles, skin, internal organs, especially the heart and brain, as well as our eyes, hair and nails. Our immune system also requires protein to help make antibodies that are required to help fight infections, and protein also plays a role in blood sugar regulation, fat metabolism and energy function.
👉Protein foods actually break down into 22 naturally occurring amino acids, which are known as the building blocks of protein. Of these, nine are known as essential amino acids, which means we must get them from food, as the body cannot make them itself. 👉👉Protein is also a good source of a range of vitamins and minerals such as zinc and B vitamins. As a vegan, it’s important that all these amino acids are included in the diet to provide optimum nutrition.
It’s easy to find plant-based sources of protein at the grocery store. Just look at all these options! These foods also tend to be high in fiber, vitamins, minerals and other important nutrients.😊

When it comes to nutrition for the gut, we usually hear about prebiotic fibers and probiotics. However, I don’t think we hear enough about polyphenols, which are plant compounds found in berries, grapes, tea, herbs, spices, and cocoa, to name a few. These polyphenols are serving many gut-related functions like shifting the microbiome, helping in the production of beneficial compounds like short-chain fatty acids, reducing inflammatory processes, and increasing antioxidant capacity. I think there is some high-level intelligence being conveyed to our collective guts by these plant compounds!

Added sugar has taken the spotlight as the ingredient to avoid in the modern diet.
On average, Americans eat about 17 teaspoons of added sugar each day 😳
Most of this is hidden within processed foods, so people don’t even realize they’re eating it.🧐
Sugar goes by many different names, so it can be difficult to figure out how much of it a food actually contains.
✅The most effective way to reduce your sugar intake is to eat mostly whole and minimally processed foods.
