A Moment In Nature
When someone pulls back or goes quiet, it doesn’t always mean they’re avoiding you.
Life can hit in ways that leave people with little energy left to give.
They may be distracted by sudden changes they didn’t see coming, trying to adjust and survive something bigger than what they can explain. They might be pouring everything into making ends meet or figuring out how to get through the day, and by the time they’re done, they have nothing left for conversation.
Some people withdraw because they are too worn out to socialize, while others may be carrying invisible pain or struggling with illness that makes even the smallest interaction feel heavy.
And then there are those who are simply tired of putting on a brave face, tired of pretending to be fine around everyone when inside they are barely holding it together.
The truth is, you rarely see the full picture of what someone is carrying. What looks like distance may actually be survival. What feels like silence may be exhaustion.
Before you take it personally, remember, everyone is fighting battles they don’t always talk about.
Be slow to judge, gentle with assumptions, and quick to give grace. You never know how much weight someone is carrying in the moments they seem far away.
