Did you know?

Untreated mid-life hearing loss is considered the largest single modifiable risk factor for dementia, with potential to account for up to 8% of cases, according to a significant report from The Lancet Commission.

The link between hearing loss and dementia is multifactorial, involving social isolation, reduced brain stimulation, and altered brain structure. Consistent use of hearing aids has been shown to help protect against cognitive decline, making regular hearing tests crucial for early identification and management

5 tips from us to help you lead a Healthy Hearing life!

1. Protect Your Ears from Loud Noises** Exposure to loud noises is a leading cause of hearing loss. Wear earplugs or earmuffs when you're in noisy environments, like concerts, sporting events, or when using power tools.

2. Turn Down the Volume** Whether you're listening to music through headphones or watching TV, keep the volume at a safe level. If others can hear your music or you have to shout to be heard, it's too loud!

3. Give Your Ears a Break** If you've been in a loud environment, give your ears some quiet time afterward. This can help them recover and reduce the risk of temporary or permanent damage.

4. Get Your Hearing Checked Regularly** Even if you don't notice any problems, regular hearing check-ups are important, especially as you age. Early detection of hearing loss can lead to more effective treatment.

5. Don't Insert Anything into Your Ear Canal** Avoid using cotton swabs, hairpins, or any other objects to clean your ears. This can push earwax further in, damage your eardrum, or cause infections. Let your ears clean themselves naturally!
