As parents prepare for the return to school and routines you might find your child is spending more time in their room or not participating in their usual sports and activities. Do they v**e? Recent trends are for young people to be given/sold v**e devices that are not legal or safe - ask your child 'do they know what is in their device'?

A question TheJournal.ie & Jennifer Murnane O Connor TD HSE Ireland how many enforcement visits were made last year to produce the 33 orders for breaches? This seems very small number of visits in the context of thousands of outlets and more appearing each week. It is always good to see investment that is badly needed. The only concern is that once again the data shows the median age of first alcohol use was 16 years of age yet this funding from Jennifer Murnane O Connor TD will mostly prioritise adult treatment services and the diversion, education and interventions by adolescent services is not being prioritised.

Minister announces that HHC has been added to the Misuse of Drugs Act and banned. CSMT have witnessed the steady increase of referrals for young people suffering from reactions, sometimes serious reactions to use of HHC or THC -https://www.thejournal.ie/hhc-banned-6776950-Jul2025/

These substances are damaging the health and well being of young people so don't accept its use or normalise its use.

Since HHC was first detected in Ireland in 2022, it has been linked with episodes of psychosis and hospitalisation.
