On World Mental Health Day, we want to remind you that support is here. You do not have to struggle in isolation with your mental health and the challenges of every day life. In the pages of our latest e-zine, THRIVE, you'll find wisdom to lean on during the hard days from our community of creators who have not just survived, but thrived in the face of mental health struggles. In this issue we've explored the concepts of letting go, maturity, play, and change. We've also included inspiration for THRIVING through the winter months. So don't struggle alone. Find comfort and connection in these pages. We hope you enjoy THRIVE Issue 3 as much as we've enjoyed bringing it to life.

As World Mental Health Day approaches, we want to highlight some of the events taking place across Ireland. This one in Jobstown, Dublin is open to all and showcases the many local and national mental health resources available. Why not stop in and take a break for your mental health?

On Wednesday evening, 10th September 2025, Grow Area Coordinator Marie Gilligan (pictured) along with members of the Sligo/Leitrim Grow support groups attended a public talk delivered by renowned Chartered Psychologist and author Shane Martin. Held at the stunning Lough Rynn Castle in Co. Leitrim, the event drew a large audience from across Ireland. Shane Martin, best known for his book Moodwatchers, delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking talk focused on developing inner strength and resilience in the face of life’s challenges.

We were delighted with the opportunity to promote Grow’s mental health support services, helping to raise awareness of the support services available locally in Leitrim and the wider region.

The HSE National Office for Su***de Prevention (NOSP) is sharing five key messages about World Su***de Prevention Day 2025.

1. Reach Out and Check In – Take time to connect with people around you. A simple check-in can bring hope and make a real difference.
2. Your Words Matter – Speak with kindness and empathy when talking about su***de. Everyone affected – whether they’ve lost someone or struggled themselves – deserves dignity and respect.
3. Be Safe Online – Share information about su***de or self-harm responsibly and supportively. Help create a safer, more sensitive online space for everyone.
4. Let’s Talk About Su***de – Build your su***de prevention skills. Learn how to spot signs and support someone – you could help save a life.
5. Know Where to Get Help – Familiarise yourself with local and national supports and services. Knowing where to turn can make a meaningful difference.

Today and every day, there is a Grow Group to support you. No matter what you're going through. You do not have to struggle alone. Visit us at grow.ie

A night we won't soon forget!

Members of the Grow Mental Health support groups in Kilkenny, after some tutoring generously funded by the local Enterprise & Training Board, created the most gorgeous artworks for a show in Kilkenny's Mayfield Library. We launched the exhibition on Monday with folks from Grow MH and the local community in attendance. The artworks will be on display until Saturday, so if you are in the area be sure to pop in. Tapping into our creativity can have such a profound impact on our mental health. What a way to celebrate the creativity and journeys of our group members. Thanks to all who helped bring this exhibition to life 💚💚

Let's support Anil as he prepares for a tandem skydive in aid of Grow Mental Health. On August 28th, Anil will be leaping from an airplane and he hopes to raise vital funds for Grow.

"By taking on this skydive, I hope to not only conquer my fears but also raise awareness and funds for a cause that is incredibly important to me."

DHL has generously committed to match any donation Anil received for his fundraiser, so let's get donating!

Thank you for your support, Anil and for helping us get closer to our vision of an Ireland where no one needs to navigate mental health challenges or life's struggles alone. 💚🪂
