Today I met a lady going through combination chemotherapy and targeted therapy.

Her treatment hasn’t caused full hair loss, but it has led to noticeable thinning and a change in texture and condition. That in-between stage can be especially challenging — you still have hair, but it doesn’t feel like your own.

She shared that she was at Mass recently and became very aware of it. Looking around at beautiful blow-dries and styled hair, she suddenly felt self-conscious.

She decided she wanted a wig —she wanted to feel gooagain.

We chose a piece with soft plum tones lightly woven through the front. The colour lifted her complexion and complemented her skin tone and face shape.

She’ll wear it over her own hair for fullness and confidence when she feels she needs it.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful lady and her daughter at the clinic.💕

She had previously lost her hair to cancer and had always chosen to wear beautiful hats carefully matching colours and always presenting herself with such grace and style. Facing hair loss again, she felt this time she wanted to explore the option of a wig.

During her consultation, we tried styles similar to what she had worn before, but in the end she chose something completely different — a stunning pearl-rooted piece that suited her personality, skin tone, and natural elegance perfectly.

I’m Andrea Galvin, owner of Andrea Galvin Scalp Wellness & Wig Clinic.

My clinic is a private, confidential space located in Raheen, close to the hospital, where clients receive professional advice, support, and tailored solutions for their hair loss needs.

I specialise in all types of hair loss and hair restoration, including:

My background is in hairdressing, and I spent many years working within the hair industry before choosing to specialise in scalp health and medical hair loss. Through my experience, I saw first-hand how deeply hair loss can affect confidence, identity, and wellbeing — and I knew I wanted to support clients on a deeper level.

I am currently studying Trichology, which is the science of the hair and scalp.
Trichology focuses on understanding the root causes of hair and scalp disorders, allowing for targeted, informed care.This means I can support clients with both short-term solutions (such as wigs and cosmetic options) and long-term scalp and hair health plans where possible.

I am a registered welfare partner for hair loss PRSI grants and a HSE-approved wig supplier.

This lady had recently started chemotherapy, which caused her natural hair to become very thin, flat, and lifeless. As treatment progressed, her hair lost density and strength, making everyday styling difficult and affecting her confidence.

🔬 Using a trichoscope, I analysed the scalp up close — before the treatment, you can clearly see buildup, congestion, and dead skin, which can block follicles and affect healthy hair growth.
