A Director of Nursing.

The Director of Nursing (DON) will report to the CEO (BSHL) and will be responsible in influencing and shaping the strategic direction and ongoing development of nursing services in the rapidly expanding hospital. The DON is the senior professional nursing leader accountable for the quality, safety and professional standards of nursing care across all care portals in the hospital. As an active member of the Hospital Management Team (HMT), the post holder is required to act as a professional and clinical leader in the development of nursing practice and standards to ensure the delivery of efficient, quality assured and patient centred care.

Ideal Candidate:
5 years relevant experience with at least 3 years of Senior Management experiences
The ability to promote and foster a culture of Care, Compassion and Commitment honouring the core values of Bon Secours Hospital System

Our Hospital Access Unit (HAU) at Bon Secours Hospital Limerick provides same or next-day, consultant-led care to patients referred by their GP.

Every patient is seen by a consultant in emergency medicine, supported by a dedicated nursing and healthcare team, with access to full diagnostic services on site - including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound and laboratory testing.

The HAU allows patients to be assessed, investigated and treated promptly within our new, state-of-the-art hospital.

Applications are invited for the position of Registered General Nurse for Cath Lab for New Bon Secours Hospital Limerick opening soon

The Staff Nurse in Cardiology will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing cardiology procedures, including angiograms, angioplasties and Electrical Physiology (EP). This role involves supporting patients throughout their procedure journey, from preparation and monitoring during the intervention to post procedure recovery.

Requirements for the role.

Be registered, or be eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI]
At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role, with a particular focus on cardiology or acute care nursing.
Experience working in a cardiac catheterization lab (Cath Lab) or in interventional cardiology and or knowledge of current trends and best practices in interventional cardiology nursing is desirable.

As we prepare to move from George’s Quay to Ballysimon, we have had the pleasure of welcoming new colleagues to our nursing management team, many of which join us from abroad.

To put our progress into perspective, this time last year, our nursing management team consisted of just 18 people, the team has grown to over 50 members.
Those 18 worked tirelessly to keep our Barringtons site running smoothly, while also supporting New Limerick Hospital duties, and contributing to the likes of JCI, HIQA, and BonsConnect initiatives to name just a few!

Their dedication and of course our multi-disciplinary team members have laid the foundation for the growth we are celebrating today.

A special thank you goes to our HR colleagues, whose support and collaboration have been invaluable in helping us grow our team and welcome our new members so smoothly.

We are so thrilled to welcome all of these new colleagues to our ever-growing team!
