Ultrasonography, Spirometry Facilities Started At Govt Unani Hospital Shalteng

SRINAGAR: Director of the Department of Ayush Dr Mohan Singh on Saturday inaugurated the ultrasonography and spirometry facilities for the general public at Government Unani Hospital at Shalteng here.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Singh said that the installation of ultrasound and spirometer machines was a long-pending demand of patients who come from far-off places to avail the specialized treatment methodologies of the Unani system of medicine.
He said that patients suffering from gastrointestinal, renal, and liver disorders or chronic lung diseases can now avail of diagnostic facilities at the hospital for nominal charges.
Dr Mohan Singh thanked Secretary to the Government Health and Medical Education Department Bhupinder Kumar under whose regular monitoring the Ayush Sector is achieving new heights concerning patient care in the UT.

He advised the Unani medical officers to further promote Unani treatment among people. He emphasized lifestyle management and treatment of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by utilizing the principles and practices of age-old Ayush systems.

DC Srinagar Chairs meeting of the Governing Body of Rogi Kalyan Samiti

Over 2 lakh patients treated at AYUSH hospital Shalteng in last one year

SRINAGAR MAY 10,

In order to review the functioning and patient care facilities available at Government Unani Hospital Shalteng and measures taken with respect to the facility upgradation of the hospital, a meeting of Governing Body of “Rogi Kalyan Samiti”(RKS) was held under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mohammad Aijaz Asad at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex here today.

The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of the AYUSH treatments being provided to the patients at the Hospital and took a detailed review of the functioning of the Hospital, besides discussed threadbare the measures required with respect to future planning for upgradation of the Hospital.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Chairman “Rogi Kalyan Samiti” was apprised about the progress and performance registered by the Institution under different indicators. He was also informed about various issues and demands meant for the infrastructure upgradation and overall advancement of the healthcare system in the Hospital.

The DC assured all possible support from the Administration for infrastructure development of the Hospital to further improve patient care in the hospital. The committee also approved the purchase of equipment's for the laboratory and IBT section under GFR by Hospital administration.

The DC directed the concerned to follow the objectives as envisaged in RKS guidelines and stressed for resource generation and strengthening transparent mechanism in utilization of funds.

the DC directed the concerned to identify the additional land for meeting the hospital requirements within 10 days. He also directed for exploring possibilities to provide electricity supply to hospital from essential feeder so that routine patient care facilities do not get affected.

The DC also provided Rs 5 lakh for construction of the hospital store.

The DC asked the officers to work with added zeal and dedication to ensure efficient and prompt health and patient care facilities to the people. He directed the concerned authorities to work on various necessities that are vital for upgrading basic infrastructure in the hospital and directed the In-Charge Medical Superintendent to submit the detailed Project Report for ex*****on of infrastructure development.

Earlier, The In charge Medical superintendent informed that more than 2 lakh patients have been treated in the hospital during the last one year. He also projected a proposal for approval regarding engagement of man-power on outsourcing basis for the smooth functioning of the hospital.

The meeting among others was attended by Joint Commissioner, SMC, Syed Abul Qasim, Chief Planning Officer, Srinagar, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, Deputy Director Indian systems of Medicine Dr. Ghulam Hyder Shah, District AYUSH Officer Srinagar Dr. Rukhsana Jabeen, In-Charge Medical Superintendent Govt. Unani Hospital Shalteng Dr. Mohammad Farooq Naqshbandi.
