YB Datuk Ts. Mustapha Sakmud ke Fakulti Sains Kesihatan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) di ibu negara siang tadi bagi menyempurnakan pelancaran perkhidmatan-perkhidmatan baharu program SIHAT@UKM.

Program tersebut menawarkan perkhidmatan klinik sedia ada merangkumi optometri, audiologi, terapi pertuturan, terapi pekerjaan, fisioterapi, dietetik, psikologi, dan pengimejan diagnostik dalam usaha meningkatkan kesejahteraan dan kesihatan komuniti.

Seterusnya, untuk menyediakan perkhidmatan yang lebih komprehensif dan holistik, penambahbaikan fasiliti telah dilaksanakan di dua buah klinik iaitu Psikologikal Klinikal dan Kaunseling; serta Audiologi. 20dB Hearing Sdn Bhd juga telah menaja wang tunai sebanyak RM 168,000.00 kepada Pusat Audiologi sebagai sebahagian daripada komitmen kami untuk meningkatkan perkhidmatan kesihatan pendengaran. Sesi penyerahan cek tersebut disempurnakan oleh Pengarah Urusan 20dB Hearing Sdn. Bhd., Encik Wong Kin Loon.

Turut melancarkan Mobile Audiometric Booth yang menyediakan kemudahan pemeriksaan pendengaran; serta Klinik Satelit SIHAT@UKM yang bertujuan menyebarluaskan manfaat kesemua perkhidmatan program tersebut kepada para pesakit di luar kampus UKM.

Selain itu, program SIHAT@UKM turut dilengkapi dengan sebuah bas yang berfungsi sebagai klinik optometri bergerak yang sering menjelajah ke seluruh negara bagi menawarkan perkhidmatan kesihatan komuniti secara percuma.

Do you know there are different types of hearing loss? The type of hearing loss depends on the location of the ear affected. Our ear has three main sections; outer ear, middle ear and inner ear.

CONDUCTIVE HEARING LOSS is when the problem is located in the outer or middle ear. Examples of problem could be earwax blockage or fluid in middle ear. When the problem is in the inner ear, it is called as SENSORINEURAL HEARING LOSS. MIXED HEARING LOSS is the combination of both conductive and sensorineural hearing loss.

The type of hearing loss can be identified by doing a diagnostic hearing test. Proper management will be given by our audiologist to overcome the challenges of hearing loss.
