South Taranaki Funeral Services Our professional, qualified and experienced team provide full funeral services, when you need us most

Part of the Hawera community since 1926, Cleggs Funeral Services started out as McCormick’s Funeral Services and was operated by Davy McCormick until his death. Michael Clegg purchased the funeral home in 1978 and in 1980 McCormick’s became the now well known Cleggs Funerals & Monuments. Michael Clegg operated Cleggs until his retirement in 2013. Glenn Rogers came into the business as a funeral director in 2014 and in 2021 became the new owner. He is your first point of contact and remains a dedicated servant to the South Taranaki community. Glenn is humbled to be able to support your family when you need us most. Thankyou for your professional service at this time. But most of all your kindness and empathy. The care you have given our whole family. What's special is the individuality of care you have given to our family. With gratitude. Thankyou.

It’s about time we re-introduced ourselves!

First up is Glenn.

Glenn has lived in Hāwera for more than 11 years and for four of those, he has owned South Taranaki Funeral Services. Anyone who knows Glenn knows that he, as well as being a caring and supportive funeral director, is a caring and supportive member of our community. He pitches in wherever he can add value, we’re proud to be his team.

Glenn recently caught up with Garth Weir to chat about the importance of getting checked for prostate cancer. September is prostate cancer awareness month and a check can be as simple as a blood test. Men, please get checked! Everyone else, please encourage the men in your life to get checked!

Thank you to everyone who attended our Little Angels Remembrance Service last night, both in remembrance of their little angel and in support of Maelie. There was a very special feeling in the room and we were grateful to be able to do this for and with you all ❤️

Too many men die of embarrassment because they don’t want to get their prostate checked. It’s Blue September and the South Taranaki Club is hosting a fundraising breakfast and donating the proceeds to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. It’s this Saturday 13th September 9:00am start (it’s definitely 9:00am, please ignore the time in the video) and you could win this fantastic hamper, it’s jam-packed with goodies worth more than $400!

If you can’t make to breakfast that’s no problem but please take the time to get checked (it may just need to be a blood test!) or to encourage someone you love to get checked, because it’s just not worth dying of embarrassment!

We’ve got even more incredible food bank donations to show you, it’s really wonderful to see the outpouring of love and support in our community! These donations came from both the Group Support employees and the Excel Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Ltd businesses.

Our Can the Hunger campaign has been more successful than we ever could have imagined it would be. We are so proud to be part of this community and to see everyone’s generosity. Meet Dex, he’s an amazing young man who wanted to do what he could to care for his community. We think he’s inspirational 😍
