During January I ran a series of First Aid Training sessions for staff and pupils at tasisportugal Many organisations offer Sports and Outdoor programs and don't consider all aspects of safety management until an accident occurs. Tasis should be commended for wanting to plan ahead to ensure the safety of their students.

With twenty years of working as an Outdoor Instructor and 9 years of delivering fully regulated first aid qualifications in line with the guidelines of the European Resuscitation Council, we can not only help ensure your staff are qualified and confident if an accident does occur, but also provide insight into how to organise safety management to minimise the risk of accidents occurring during sports and adventurous activities.

I am running a L2 Outdoor First Aid Course in English in Cascais on Sunday 16th March. This course is designed for those who take part in sports activities or outdoor activities as part of their work or leisure time and would like training for their own confidence, or who require a qualification.

We had a great day on Monday taking a group of year 8 students from to learn about geology whilst taking part in our Geology Orienteering competition. Fun and learning all around.

The Training Centre has a few places still available on a Basic Life Support First Aid Course running at IMBAS School of Music in Cascais on Monday 15th April between 9:30- am and 13:30 pm.

The course aims to build confidence by offering lots of opportunities for hands on practice of vital life-saving skills such as CPR, the recovery position, dealing with bleeds, shock and choking in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.

Here is a video that shows some highlights of the first program we ran in Portugal. This program taught students about how climate change is affecting the risk of wildfires in Portugal, and included a service project whereby they removed invasive and planted native species to help reduce those risks, all whilst having a lot of fun.

This is typical of the programs we continue to run that include adventure, conservation, service learning that are designed by qualified teachers and delivered in line with international best practices.

All our courses encourage hands on practice of life-saving first aid skills in a supportive and engaging atmosphere.
