We are makers and creators at heart and we want to honour the traditions that come from centuries of making things by hand. In a world proliferated by industrialised products, we offer a different aesthetic - one that is uniquely differentiated, no two pieces exactly alike because each one has been created by human hands. There is nothing older than sewing with needle and thread and these basic hu

man traditions passed down the centuries are the same techniques that form the foundation of our work. Weaving beads either with a needle (off-loom) or on a loom, is the tapestry with which we express form, function, colour and meaning in the jewelry we create. Using hand intensive techniques with such very basic tools also allows us to train and work with artisans, who, for the lack of capital, would not otherwise be able to enter the premium market of high design goods. Thus, handmade is to us, not in the least, a means of providing fair and sustainable work for such individuals and communities.

Growing up, I was the shy kid in class. The kind with “conscientious” and “well-behaved” in report cards.

If you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, the correct answer was “doctor”. Not because I wanted to be one, but because it stopped the adults from asking more questions.

No one really teaches you how to be a leader. There are leadership courses and all, but not really. My first “leadership role” — class prefect at age 10 — terrified me. I was introverted by nature, and definitely not popular or outgoing enough to imagine anyone wanting to follow me.

So what happened along the way? I learned by watching. I made a lot of mistakes. I failed. Alot. I also observed good women leaders around me — how they led, how they inspired, how they carried themselves under pressure, and how they cared for the people around them.

Today, I’ve had the privilege of sharing the work we do at Eden + Elie with audiences around the world. But there was something especially meaningful about doing it close to home, with Rachel and Claire Teo from The Private Museum — a family so generous in spirit.

Thank you for inviting me to be part of the panel for International Women’s Day 2026, alongside Dr Sue-Anne Toh of Novi Health, Shu-Hui Wee of Matcha Masta, and Rachel Teo of Fraxtor.

This CNY break brought Sydney visitors, Ming and Cathy to visit Duxton. Cathy was a customer from our Owen Rd days and she’s wearing one of our earliest designs - our Everyday Adjustable Necklace in Mist.

The last time I saw them was at their wedding in Sydney a few years ago, so it felt really special to see them again, this time with their little one.

Moments like this that make me feel so grateful for the friendships and connection that have come through Eden + Elie over the years. ❤️

The holidays have just passed, and we’re easing into the new year a little more quietly. Thank you to everyone who dropped by our store and stockists, shopped with us, or simply thought of us over the past few weeks.

We’ve been here throughout — at the studio, in the shop, and behind the scenes — and it’s meant a lot to see both familiar and new faces through the season. We’re grateful for the community that allows us to keep doing this, day after day.
