Our 2023 Christmas Light-up series comes to a close with the third and final workshop: Jingle Bell Joules!

The workshop was facilitated by teachers Weimin and Winnie, and students focused on the amazing properties of candle wicks!

We held the second workshop of our 2023 Christmas Light-up series: Frosty's Elements!

Facilitated by teachers Weimin and Winnie, our students focused their investigations on candles!

Through some experiments and teamwork, they discovered the chemical composition of candles and how candles change when they burn.

This past Saturday we held the first workshop of our 2023 Christmas Light-up series: Santa's Fireplace!

Facilitated by teachers Weimin and Winnie, our students had lots of fun using the scientific method and experimented (safely) with fire!

They learnt all about the different combustion types, the gases produced when we burn candles, and how to scientifically test for the presence of certain gases. They even got to roast some marshmallows!

The next two workshops from our Christmas Light-up series are happening this coming Saturday! We can't wait to explore more fun science with our students 😁🎄🧑🏻‍🔬👩🏻‍🔬
