Our mission begins with reclaiming the authentic bengkung belly binding true to its origin and setting the industry standard. We provide birth workers with comprehensive training and resources in traditional holistic postpartum care practices, aimed at providing optimal support to new mothers throughout their postpartum journey. Honoring and preserving Malaysian traditions, we collaborate with local artisans and herbalists to offer authentic bengkung belly binds and genuine herbal recipes. Our products are handcrafted with traditional batik techniques and sourced from organic, environmentally friendly farms and rainforests, supporting local communities in Indonesia and Malaysia.

Been back and forth to Inova Hospital these past couple of weeks — for workshops and belly binding trainings! 🌿

Big gratitude to for opening the doors and connecting us with doulas in the community. It’s so encouraging to see medical systems starting to explore holistic health and integrative postpartum care. 💜

While a few doulas couldn’t make it (births are unpredictable, right?) we had two very special guests… not one, but two babies joined our training! 👶 👶The room was overflowing with warmth and love.

Moments like these remind us why this work matters — empowering women, preserving tradition, and nurturing recovery after birth. 🌿

Every time I have a session with a client, I think about posting… but honestly, social media usually ends up at the bottom of my list. 😅

Today I made it a point to share because I was joined by one of my Holistic students 🥰 She first trained with me in and later joined our Advanced Training in Traditional Postpartum Care — learning from my mother and other teachers and elders in Malaysia. 🌿

Together, we offered:
✨ Healing touch with herbal heat compress
✨ Peri-vaginal steam
✨ Herbal tea
✨ And of course

Our client today is Russian — a reminder that holistic postpartum support crosses cultures and borders. At the heart of it, this care restores mothers in body, mind, and spirit. 💜

You often hear, “it takes a village to raise a child.” But what the modern world has forgotten is that the village first cared for the mother.

Across cultures and traditions, caring for the mother was sacred — because without her, there is no child for the village to raise. Without her strength, her healing, her presence… there is no family, no lineage.

Motherhood itself is already hard. Let us birthworkers at least make the transition into motherhood — from her birth into postpartum — easier, and fill it with love, rest, and support. 💜

A good sign of a great training? When it’s over and no one wants to leave 🤣 Even after the center closed, everyone was still hanging out by the lift, not ready to say goodbye.

I’ve led many private and in-house trainings, but this time, we opened the doors for our first public training, in collaboration with Society of Malay Heritage Medicine —and it felt like something special was set in motion. While I did most of the talking, the real stars were my amazing team of therapists, whose expert hands and warm hearts brought our postnatal care traditions to life. ❤️

We had such an enjoyable time—so much chemistry, laughter, and connection that we’re still chatting in our WhatsApp group! It was a wonderful mix of new and experienced birth workers, and I’m amazed by how much I’m learning from everyone’s generous sharing of stories and heritage.

May this be the first of many more contributions to community work, to uplift and preserve the rich heritage of Malay postpartum traditions.

Her genuine heart for the people shines through in her passion for empowering women and preserving our cultural heritage. I left our conversation deeply inspired and hopeful for what lies ahead.

Looking forward to the future of holistic maternal health and cultural preservation—because when leaders and communities come together, we can uplift mothers and keep our traditions thriving.

This might just be the most beautifully diverse group I’ve ever trained—Chinese, Indian, White, Pakistani, Black, Indigenous… and of course, Malay! 💛

What truly amazed me was how, across all these cultures, there are striking parallels in postpartum wisdom. Rest, warmth, touch, herbs, nourishment—no matter where we’re from, our traditions speak the same language when it comes to healing after birth.

Even more special is the why behind each person’s journey into this work—from radical roots midwifery to pregnancy loss support, surrogacy care, and plus-size advocacy. And we even have 2 postpartum mothers!! When they experienced the profound benefits of bellybinding during their own recovery, they felt called to learn it deeply—and it looks like a beautiful gateway into birthwork for them! 🥳

Witnessing these collective stories, purposes, and callings come together through belly binding was nothing short of magical. May these carry this wisdom forward with love, integrity, and the spirit of healing in every wrap. 💛

So many firsts! My first time speaking on a panel, my first time leading a workshop at a conference—and Birth Matron’s first exhibitor booth in Canada! 🇨🇦

It’s been an exhilarating 3 days: beautiful connections, a full house at our belly binding workshop (and of course I forgot to take a photo until half the doulas had already left 😅), and even a documentary crew filming!

And the warmth and hospitality of the Canadian birth community? That deserves a whole post of its own. 💛

Now taking a deep breath and getting ready for my first international belly binding training—happening tomorrow, right here in Canada! 🥳
