Cataract occurs when the natural lens in the eye becomes cloudy. This is most common among older adults. As the eye ages, the condition develops and common symptoms such as dull, blurry vision, faded colours and haloes around lights may begin to be noticeable.

Cataracts are most often treatable with surgery, but it may not be necessary until performing daily activities becomes difficult.

At Dr Alicia Eye Specialist, our emphasis is on eye care for the whole family. We encourage you to take a moment to read our digital informative brochure on Cataract and share the link with your friends and family.

Hi everyone! Our team at Dr Alicia Eye Specialist (Dr Alicia Claire How and Optometrists - Clarissa & Lyn) are committed to starting the New Year with a common goal to share and grow eye care awareness to as many eyes as we can.

Myopia (short-sightedness) is the most common refractive error in children. It is currently a growing global epidemic and is estimated to affect about half of the global population by 2050.

Do remember to encourage our children to spend more time outdoors and take frequent breaks from near work activities!
