1st August is World Lung Cancer Day, a day to create awareness and educate the world on lung cancer issues. The clinical relevance of capmatinib and tepotinib as approved therapies for metastatic METex14 NSCLC has made METex14 an additional actionable oncogenic driver in NSCLC, making it an important biomarker for screening to identify patients who may be eligible for a targeted therapy.

Sarcoma is rare, and most cases are challenging to diagnose accurately through conventional histopathology. A paradigm shift towards diagnostic multigene fusion panel through NGS is currently available to accurately detect known and novel fusions such as EWSR1 and NTRK. For novel biomarker discovery, multi-omics and spatial genomics offer more insight into how rare sarcoma works on a cellular level.

This July, we are switching out part of our logo to yellow for this rare cancer awareness month, one of the forgotten cancers that account for 1% of adults and 15% of paediatric tumours.
