The Transmedic Singapore Spine Team was pleased to support the recent Endospine course hosted by National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) last month.

Led by the NNI team, the programme brought together spine surgeons from across the region for an immersive learning experience focused on the evolving practice of endoscopic spine surgery. Through cadaveric workshops and simulations of real intraoperative challenges, participants gained practical, hands-on experience in techniques increasingly shaping modern spine care.

Beyond technical training, the course also provided a valuable platform for peer-to-peer exchange, enabling surgeons to share experiences, discuss approaches, and learn from one another across diverse markets and practice settings.

It is encouraging to see continued efforts to build regional capability and foster collaboration — reflecting Transmedic’s ongoing commitment to advancing professional education and supporting better patient care across the region.

We thank the NNI team and faculty, as well as joimax, for making this important initiative possible and for their shared commitment to advancing spine education in Asia.

Open dialogue, shared experiences, and meaningful clinical exchange.

That was the spirit of the recent EVO ICL Users Meeting in Manila, hosted by Transmedic Philippines, where over 40 ophthalmologists came together for an evening of peer-to-peer learning and clinical discussion.

From patient selection and vaulting considerations to navigating surgical complexities and sharing clinical pearls, the discussions addressed practical, real-world questions that help new users build confidence, accelerate adoption, and strengthen decision-making in practice.

Moderated by Dr. Robert Ang, with engaging case-based discussions and practical surgical insights from Dr. Reginald Tan and Dr. Erika Elazegui, the session created a valuable platform for surgeons to exchange real-world experiences in EVO ICL practice.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our faculty, organising committee, and to our partner, STAAR Surgical, for supporting meaningful professional education and continued clinical excellence across the region. We look forward to the next user meeting.

Returning for a second year, the Clarius MSK Cadaveric Workshop continues to set the benchmark for hands-on clinical excellence.

Earlier this month, the Clarius MSK Cadaveric workshop took place at The Dualan Anatomy Laboratory, UP College of Medicine (UPCM) in Manila Philippines, bringing together clinicians and future practitioners to advance precision in musculoskeletal care.

The focus is clear — clinical excellence today depends not just on access to technology, but on the capability to apply it with accuracy and confidence.

Through hands-on cadaveric training in ultrasound-guided interventions, Transmedic continues to support this shift — building real-world skills that translate into safer, more precise patient outcomes. Guided by esteemed faculty including Dr. Marc Anthony Castro, Dr. Carlo Angelo Borbon, and Dr. Jose Antonio San Juan, the workshop reflects our commitment to strengthening clinical capability at scale.

Because leadership in healthcare is not just about innovation — it is about ensuring it delivers impact where it matters most.

Myopia affects up to 80% of young adults across parts of Southeast Asia — and the numbers are still rising. With ICL surgery emerging as a leading solution for moderate to high myopia, equipping surgeons with the skills to meet this demand has never been more critical.

As part of our ongoing commitment to the ophthalmic community, we were proud to sponsor a Refractive Workshop & Wet Lab at OasisEye Specialists, Kuala Lumpur — bringing together over 40 ophthalmologists at every stage of their ICL journey.

Structured to build both knowledge and hands-on confidence, the day included:

- Comprehensive grounding in ICL product knowledge and full perioperative management
- Small-group wet lab rotations with expert surgical guidance
- Open sharing of surgical pearls and real-world best practices
- Dedicated support for new adopters building procedural competence

When experienced surgeons and new learners train side by side, the entire field moves forward — and ultimately, so do patient outcomes.

We are grateful to OasisEye Specialists and our partner, STAAR Surgical, for making this possible. We look forward to continuing to support the ophthalmic community across the region.
