Currently, meningococcal vaccination is required for Singapore pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for the Haj pilgrimage. All Singapore pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for the Haj pilgrimage also need to be vaccinated for influenza and COVID-19 prior to travel, in addition to meningococcal vaccination.
Pilgrims are to ensure that:
1. Meningococcal vaccination: Pilgrims must complete their meningococcal vaccination at least 10 days before departure and provide proof of vaccination
2. COVID-19 vaccination: Pilgrims must show proof of either a single dose of the updated vaccine for the 2025 season, completion of primary vaccination series, or laboratory-confirmed recovery from a COVID-19 infection during the year 2025. And it is still fully subsidised for SG citizens, PRs and visit pass holders in Singapore
3. Influenza vaccination: Pilgrims must receive their influenza vaccination within 12 months before their travel date and provide proof of vaccination. Also, the gvt vacccination subsidy scheme may apply for those individuals deemed to be high risk for influenza infection and complications ie elderly >=65year old, or those with underlying chronic medical conditions ie diabetes, heart and lung diseases (asthma/COPD), liver or kidney impairments etc
At Kindred Family Clinics, we are accredited COVID-19 vaccine providers and will be able to provide the respective vaccinations accordingly to individuals who are travelling
