Actolind contains polyhexanide (PHMB) and poloxamer - biocompatible ingredients that are gentle to tissues and non-irritating. Most importantly, they do not impair wound granulation and epithelialisation (i.e. wound healing).

Many commonly used antiseptics actually impair the wound healing process (e.g. silver-based products, chlorhexidine, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide).

In addition, poloxamer has several biological properties that are beneficial for wound healing. This includes its unique ability to selectively seal damaged portions of the cell membrane. In doing so, poloxamer prevents cell and tissue death that would otherwise occur with leaking cell membranes.

ACTOLIND utilises the synergistic interactions of POLYHEXANIDE and POLOXAMER for optimal wound healing.

POLYHEXANIDE (PHMB) is a broad spectrum antiseptic.🦠 It is effective against tough pathogens and biofilms yet gentle to tissues.

Unlike chlorhexidine and povidone iodine, PHMB is better tolerated and does not impair wound healing.

It is not absorbed by the body and suitable for long term use.

POLOXAMER is a non-toxic, biocompatible surfactant.💧 It enhances the wetting effect of Actolind for better removal of wound contaminants.
