Painless, occasional blood in urine is the most common sign of bladder cancer.

Pain is more likely to be associated with advanced bladder cancer or cancer that has spread to other parts of the body.

Bladder cancer is the 7th most common cancer in Singapore and most patients who have bladder cancer are 50 years or older.

This case presents an atypical scenario where despite the age, certain notable risk factors present can predispose an individual to bladder cancer.

Older boys who have normally descended testicles at birth but “missing” one later may be due to:

💥Retractile testicle: Not abnormal and doesn't require surgery or other treatment as the te**is can be guided by hand into the sc***um.

💥Ascending testicle: Te**is that can't be easily guided by hand into the sc***um. May require surgery.

Undescended te**is may be alarming to new parents, but it is usually a harmless condition that resolves on its own.

Parents are to monitor it and if a retractile testicle does ascend permanently, discuss the timing, risks, and benefits of surgery with a urologist.

Testicular cancer is highly treatable, even when it spreads to other parts of the body.

Aside from those mentioned in the clip, other symptoms include:

⚠️ Sudden buildup of fluid in the sc***um
⚠️ Breast tenderness or growth (gynecomastia)
⚠️ Lower back pain
⚠️ Difficulty breathing
⚠️ Chest pain

Swelling of legs or difficulty breathing results from a blood clot in a large vein. For some young or middle-aged people, developing a blood clot may be the first sign of testicular cancer.

Back-to-back meetings? Stinky toilet? Need to complete an assignment? JUST GOT NO TIME TO GO?

When your bladder is half full, nerves signal your brain giving you the urge to urinate. The brain then signals the bladder to hold on until the time is right. Holding your p*e involves consciously fighting this signal to urinate.

Holding your urine for too long is never a good thing! Doing so
❗Weakens the bladder muscles over time resulting in incontinence and not being able to fully empty your bladder later on
❗May cause infections of the urinary tract due to bacteria build-up, with symptoms like frequent urination, foul smelling urine, even burning sensation when urinating
❗Increases risk of kidney disease
❗Potentially even bladder rupture (rare but life threatening)

Sometimes you may want to relieve yourself, but you have trouble doing so. Certain conditions like kidney failure and enlarged prostate can affect your ability to p*e.
