Yogasana For those curious souls about yoga, fitness, wellness and everything in between. If you want to star

This is a great reminder for the holidays as looking at other's social media posts can give you a warped view of their life and a sense that somehow yours is inadequate. Everyone is struggling, and learning, and growing. Dont compare your journey to someone elses.

You want a strong back and a flexible spine? One of the great exercises for your back is back bend. Let’s explore bow pose today, shall we?

Do you know bridge in yoga is a great back bending and heart opening pose, especially for my new yogis?

It is the whole body workout:
+ thighs actively pressed toward the midline
+ gluts are squeezed tightly
+ core engaged with belly button pulled in toward spine
+ back is on fire
+ shoulder blades are actively contracted
+ chest is stretched

You can even use props for support or spicing things up. And it is a very safe pose because you are lying down.

There is no reason not to practice it then. Happy Tuesday and happy practicing.

Stay well XO

How do you deal with a rough day?
Me: I go upside down for awhile, close my eyes and think of Night Birde‘s words: “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy”

I forget to share with you all the 10 mins chair stretching for office folks today🥲. I’m so mad at myself. But there is tomorrow so stay tune for that. Let’s try it with me during your lunch break. It is 10 mins or less, I swear 😎🤩.

And this short video is to remind everyone including myself to HAVE FUN with life and with Yoga of course. This short transitions is pretty intense but definitely fun to me 😍

I used to think: Yoga props are for beginner. And the arrogant me never touched props (like blocks and strap) until the day I pulled my muscle during a yoga practice and realised I was so wrong.

And I learn that when I come to yoga, I better put my ego at home. Props like blocks and straps support the practice in so many ways even though we may think we don’t need them. I love using props to stretch, to help me overcome my fear of falling, to enter a new pose that may require different muscles that have rarely been used.

Below are my favourite position to open my heart and shoulders, as well as support my back bending and stretching my core. The feeling is out of this world soothing and relaxing!!

When it comes to difficult asanas in Yoga, arm balancing poses and inversion poses (head below heart) are at the top of the list. Because they require not just strength, not just flexibility, but the courage and determination to get to them. No one is born with the strength and flexibility. It takes hard work, dedication and most importantly the correct training method to prevent injury and optimise your capability.

If you want to start, like the most experience yogi somehwere, hit me up and ask for tips. The first one is, START with basic 😊.

Following the series, here are the fundamental alignment for you for warrior 1 2 and 3. Click on each photo to view.

The next time you step on the mat, make sure to pay attention to these alignments and try to execute. They would bring our practice to the next level.

Happy Wednesday yogis!!

My favourite Yoga flow practice always contains warrior 1, 2 and 3. They are great in stretching and strengthen the lower body (legs, hips and core). At the same times, they requires full body engagement, thus enhance our awareness of body movement and coordination.

Here is my favourite way to flow through them in a short Yoga practice.

See you on the mat.
