Tottenham midfielder James Maddison has successfully undergone ACL reconstruction surgery after suffering a ruptured ACL in his right knee during a recent pre-season match.
An ACL tear is particularly serious for footballers, as it compromises knee stability, vital for quick changes of direction and acceleration on the pitch. Recovery can be lengthy, typically requiring at least six months before players can begin training again.
