Dear anglers,
when you start to notice signs of corrosion, starting at the binds.
There are a few reasons for such occurrences to take place.
But, generally its due to poor maintenance, inferior quality guide foot material and bindings.
However, the condition maybe, do bring your fishing rods to Rodstation and have it repaired.

It's great to support your friend as an upcoming rod builder, but always remember, there will be a price to pay.
This rod came in, just after it was collected from another builder.
I was told to strip everything and re-build it.
Here are some of the "ugly" and painful scars.

A client came in yesterday to strip an old rod and have the whole rod rebuilt by Rodstation.
Upon stripping the rod, tonnes of thread was removed from the rod. So much weight has been added onto the blank, but why?

Always have your rods handcrafted, you need them to perform whenever you are out at sea and not fail on you during the trip.
There are many good rod builders locally, seek their advice on how to ensure that your "fighting"equipment is deemed fit.

Wonder what had actually happened to the reel seat, this is the first time i am encountering such a case.
Spent a good few hours to hack out the seat and slice off the EVA grips, then a couple more to measure , grind and fit the parts back.

Recieved a call from the owner of this G.Loomis rod, he had a rod that needs re-work. After analysing the fracture on both sides, i popped quite a few question to the owner, but only a few were being answered. I didn't want to pry further, so i began to perform the "surgery".
