"Did you know?"

Newborn girls may experience:

-Vaginal bleeding and discharge
-Breast development
-Breast milk production

This is due to maternal hormones passed from mother to baby during pregnancy, causing a temporary "mini-puberty" state.

Don't worry, it's harmless and resolves on its own within a few weeks.

When is the right time to start your baby on solids?

Babies can start solids from 6 months old onwards but some can start after 4 months old. Below are some signs that your baby is ready for solids:

• They can sit up straight and control their neck.

• They show interest in food and reach for it.

• They open their mouth for a spoon and can close their lips around it.

• They like to chew on things and put them in their mouth.

• They seem hungry even after drinking milk.

❗Remember, every baby is different. If you're unsure, always ask your doctor.
