Ever winced your way down a flight of stairs? 😬

You're not alone — and you're definitely not imagining it.

Going downstairs actually puts 3 to 4 times your body weight through your kneecap. No wonder it hurts more on the way down than the way up.

In this week's Everyday Pain Explained, I'm breaking down:
✅ Why stairs hurt your knees (the science)
✅ The 3 most common causes
✅ Red flags you should never ignore
✅ Simple things that actually help

💾 Save this post — your knees will thank you later.

And if your stair pain has been going on for more than 2 to 3 weeks, it's worth getting it properly checked out.

Torn tendon or ligament? It doesn’t always mean open surgery.

Suture anchors are tiny but powerful tools used in keyhole surgery to reattach tissues back to bone helping restore stability and function.

Commonly used for shoulder injuries, sports trauma, and more.

If you’ve been dealing with persistent pain or instability, it might be time to get it checked.

Think a shoulder dislocation is just a one-time injury? Think again.

Once it happens, your risk of it happening again increases — especially if you're active or play sports.

The good news? With proper treatment and rehabilitation, you can regain stability and get back to doing what you love.

If you're experiencing repeated shoulder “slipping” or instability, it’s time to get it checked.

Ever wondered how surgeons see clearly inside your joints during keyhole surgery?

Here’s something interesting — it’s actually done underwater. 💧

During arthroscopy, fluid is used inside the joint to:
✔️ Expand the space for better visibility
✔️ Reduce bleeding
✔️ Allow precise treatment using small instruments

This is why keyhole surgery is:
✨ Minimally invasive
✨ More accurate
✨ Faster recovery compared to traditional surgery

If you’re dealing with joint pain, injuries, or considering surgery — understanding your options is the first step.

Your orthopaedic specialist may recommend different tests such as X-rays, ultrasound, or MRI scans to understand what is happening inside the joint and identify the root cause of the pain.

Each test provides different information helping doctors make the most accurate diagnosis and recommend the right treatment.

If you are experiencing persistent shoulder or joint discomfort, it’s important not to ignore it.

The injury that happens during heavy lifts.

You’re mid-rep.
Bar coming down.
Suddenly a sharp pain. A pop.

That could be a pectoralis tendon rupture.

This injury is increasingly common in:
✔️ Weightlifters
✔️ CrossFit athletes
✔️ Men in their 20s–40s pushing heavy loads

The pec tendon can tear when the muscle contracts forcefully while being stretched especially during heavy bench press.

Don’t ignore sudden chest pain, bruising, or weakness after a lift.
